Chapter 13

Britney's POV -

We all looked at each other and chuckled.

"Yup, I have no idea." I said more to my self than anyone else.

Suddenly everyone stopped laughing, as if realizing that this is actually a serious subject.

"Well we have to start somewhere." Jordan said hesitantly.

"Ya we do." Ryan said agreeing with Jordan. 

We all nodded to that.

"Well, we could start by doing some research of what the old six people did, I mean the six that were stuck in this prophecy." I suggested.

"Ya, but we have to do things differently, we have to get rid of Joshua once and for all." Nathan said.

"Ya you're right but how?" Elena questioned.

"Well if I knew how, we wouldn't be doing the research, would we." Cynthia said harshly.

I wasn't expecting Cynthia to speak, because she was quiet the whole time. I think we were all shocked, because all of us had a shocked expression. I guess we weren't expecting her to speak.

"Oh ya." Elena said, recovering from her shock.

"What? Why are you guys so shocked?" Cynthia asked.

"Well we thought that you weren't paying attention." Jordan said.

Cynthia scowled at Jordan.

"Obviously I would pay attention! I'm part of a prophecy that could possibly kill me, why the hell would I not pay attention." Cynthia replied.

That shut us all up, she did have a point.

"You're right." Ryan muttered.

"Obviously I'm right." Cynthia said.

"Okay guys, we're going off topic." Elena said.

"Ya lets focus. I have an idea." Jordan said.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, since we have only about 2 weeks till Joshua comes to our school, we should hurry up." Jordan said.

"No, really." Ryan said, sarcastically. Jordan rolled his eyes.

"So whats your idea?" I asked.

"We split up in groups of two, and we try and find out more about Joshua and who the spy is." Jordan said.

We all were thinking about the idea, it was actually good.

"Thats a good idea." Nathan said. We all nodded in agreement.

"Okay, so what are the groups?" Elena asked.

"I'll go with Elena." Ryan butted in.

"Um, okay I'm cool with that, I really don't care who I'm with." Elena said.

"I'll go with Nathan." Cynthia said dreamily at Nathan. I don't know why but I felt a pang of jealousy, but I pushed it aside.

"Actually, I think I'll go with Britney." Nathan said, telling Cynthia off. I held back the smile that was forming on my lips.

"Whatever." Cynthia said, glaring at me. I just gave her an innocent look, and she scowled at that.

"Then I guess I'll go with Cynthia." Jordan said.

Poor Jordan, he's going to have to put up with Cynthia. I thought.

"Ya whatever." Cynthia said.

"Okay so how are we going to split the work?" Ryan asked.

"Well, Me and Britney will work on finding the spy." Nathan said.

"Okay, I'll work with Elena to find out more about Joshua." Ryan said.

"And I'll work with Cynthia, to find more about the prophecy, and how to defeat Joshua." Jordan said.

"Okay, then it's settled, now lets all go and eat something, I'm starving." Elena said.

We all chuckled at that, but we agreed to since we were all hungry. All of us were walking to the cafeteria, we were all lost in our own world thinking about life. We finally round the corner and reached the cafeteria. We found a table for six and sat down.

"Okay what should we order, I'm so damn hungry." Elena said.

"How about pizza?" Ryan asked.

We all said yes.

"Okay, I'll go order." Nathan said, with that he walked off.

Nathan came back, with two boxes of pizza, pop, chips and dipping sauce. We all digged in and ate in a comfortable silence, I guess we were all hungry or that we already had enough surprizes and just wanted some alone time to think. Finally after about 25 minutes, we were all done eating.

"Lets head back to our rooms, its already 8:30pm." Jordan said, while checking his phone for the time.

They all agreed and went their own way, except for me and Nathan. There was an awkward silence surrounding us. I finally mustered up the courage to speak.

"So, you want to search Damon's room to find clues now?" I asked.

"Sure, but first lets check if he's in his room or not. If he is we'll wait until he goes out." Nathan said.

"Ya okay." I said.

Nathan payed the bill. We were currently walking to Damon's room. Nathan decided to break the silence.

"So you're going with Max to the Halloween dance?" Nathan asked.

"Yes, I believe so." I said.

Nathan's fist and jaw clenched. What was his problem. He was the one who wanted me to leave him alone, I'm finally listening to him, and now he is getting pissed. Whatever it's his problem not mine.

Ryan's POV -

"Wanna head to the library and see if we can find anything about Joshua over there?" I asked Elena.

"Sure." Elena said.

We made our way to the library and started the research.

Britney's POV- 

We reached Damon's room, Nathan put his ear against the door to check if someone was inside. 

"I hear noises, I think Damon is inside." Nathan said.

"Oh, great. What do we do now?" I asked.

"Lets go to the park, but it's going to be empty." Nathan said.

"Sure, there is nothing else to do." I said, agreeing to go to the park.

We started heading towards the park. Finally we reached the park. Nathan and I sat on one of the benches beside each other, we sat their in silence gazing up at the sky. The night sky was filled with bright stars.

"It's beautiful." I whispered.
