Chapter 16:

Britney's POV -

"Okay talk already." Cynthia said, getting impatient.

"What do you guys want to know?" Damon asked.

"Everything." Elena replied harshly.

"Okay, I promise I will tell you guys everything, have a seat so we can began." Damon said.

"We're fine standing, just get on with the story." Nathan replied venomously.

"Okay, Joshua is my elder brother, he is 1 year older than me. Joshua was a really nice guy, he wouldn't even hurt a fly. But my father, Lucifer was evil. Lucifer convinced Joshua to reach his true potential. Lucifer did a spell on both me and Joshua, and the spell was that we don't age. So I'm stuck being 17 for the rest of my life. and Joshua will remain 18. Joshua has tried multiple times to do the spell, but he hasn't succeeded to this day. But I'm afraid this time he is more powerful, he has an elder witch on his side. And he has a spy that's going to this highschool." Damon said. There was a silence in the air, as everyone took in what Damon said.

"So how do we stop him?" I asked. I saw Damon tense at that.

"Well prophecy has it that only the chosen six can put an end to Joshua forever." Damon said.

"You mean we have to stop Joshua?" Cynthia asked with wide eyes. "Yes you guys." Damon said.

"You're trying to say that we have to stop a 1075 year old witch?" Elena asked.

"Yes you guys are the only ones who have the power to do it." Damon said.

"You do know that Joshua is coming to this high school in about 8 or 9 days." Jordan said.

"Yes I'm aware, but we still have 9 months, the Prophecy can only only be broken on the eldest person's birthday." Damon said.

"Oh yeah, on Nathan's birthday August 1st." Ryan said.

"Yeah, so we still have 9 months to train you guys to use your abilities." Damon said.

"If the prophecy can only be broken in 9 months, then why is he coming now?" I asked.

"Because, he is interested in you, I don't know why, but he has taken a special interest in you. Also because he wants to keep an eye on all six of you." Damon said.

"So what's the plan now?" Elena asked, without making eye contact with Damon.

"Well first you guys have to learn how to use your invisibility, telepathy, and mind-reading. We also have to find out why Joshua has taken a special interest in Britney." Damon said.

"For now, you guys should go back into your rooms and get a good nights sleep." Damon said.

"Okay." We all said. one by one we all headed back except for Elena.

Elena's POV -

It was just me and Damon, I could feel this gaze on me, but I was looking everywhere except for Damon. There was an awkward silence surrounding us. I finally decided to break it. "You know what I should go." I said. I was about to walk out the door, but before I even took a single step, Damon grabbed my wrist and stopped me.

"Look I know you're mad because I didn't tell you the truth, but I had too. You weren't ready to know it." Damon said. I kept my gaze on the floor.

"Look at me" Damon said. I ignored him and kept my eyes on anything else but him. I struggled to get out of his grip, but he just tightened his grip on me. I gave up struggling, but I still kept my gaze on the floor.

"Look at me." Damon demanded, louder this time. When I didn't comply, he grabbed my chin and made me face him. He kept staring at me, as if trying to decipher what I was feeling, but I kept an emotionless face. He finally gave up, and spoke.

"Are you still mad at me?" He asked. I thought about it for a while, honestly I was mad at him first, but now I'm not.

"No, I'm not." I said sincerely.

"Thank god." Damon said, relief washing over his face.

"But that doesn't mean everything can go back to how they were, I'm going to need some time to trust you." I said.

"You can take all the time you need, but I want you to know that just because I was hiding something from you doesn't mean that what we have isn't real. Our friendship was real." Damon said. I know he was right, but I still needed some more time to trust him again.

"Okay" I said.

"Okay." Damon said. I don't think he noticed, but he was still holding on to my wrist.

"Can you please let go of my wrist?" I asked. Damon quickly let go of my wrist and a bright pink colour attacked his cheeks.

"Oh right, I forgot." He mumbled. I chuckled at his cuteness.

"Bye, I guess I'll see you around." I said waving my hand at him.

"Bye." He replied, quickly recovering from his flushed face. I stepped out of his room and made my way back to my room.

Britney's POV -

I was sitting on my study table, trying to do my homework. But I was getting distracted by today's events. With Joshua coming back in just 8 or 9 days, and with the spy in this school. It's all to much to take in. But there is one thing I couldn't get out of my head, it was Nathan. There was something about him, that I was attracted to. I kept thinking about our "almost kiss," now that I think about it, I can't help but fell disappointed. I really wanted to fell his lips against. I don't know what is wrong with me, but there is something really special about Nathan, and I can't put my finger on it. His deeg gray eyes had so much emotions in them. I could stare at them for-.

"Hey, I'm back." Elena said, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Hi." I said shakily.

"Woah what's up with you, you look shaken up a bit." Elena asked.

"Nothing, it's just, this is way too much to take in." I said. It wasn't all a lie, I just skipped the part of my thinking about Nathan.

"Yeah, I've been worried about that too." Elena said. We let that hang in the air.

"So what are we going to do about Joshua coming in about 8 or 9 days." I said.

"Honestly speaking, I don't know. I am freaked out and I'm scared. But we're going to have to do something, I guess first we have to find the spy." Elena said. Honestly, I was just as much freaked out as she was, possibly even more. But I wasn't going to let Joshua win. I barely know Joshua but, I hate him so much.

"Yeah, you're right." I finally said.

"Enough with the sad talk, let's have fun today and forget about all of this." Elena said.

"Sure." I replied.

"I'm going to call Cynthia, Nathan, Ryan and Jordan to join us." Elena said, getting up and picking her phone up.

"Okay, I texted all of them and they said, they'll be right here in 5!" Elena said excitedly. I guess they came earlier because I heard the doorbell shortly after Elena had texted. Elena got up to open the door. I saw Elena come, followed by Cynthia, Jordan, Ryan and finally Nathan.
