The door shut and I heard Luke call out for me. How long had I been asleep? I sat up slowly and rubbed the tiredness from my eyes. He walked to the couch and fell down to the empty seat next to me. "Where were you?" He shrugged, "Helping with camp training." I raised my eyebrow which he got the hint to explain further. "They needed a new sword play teacher, I gave it a shot and now they want to pay me for it." I smiled at him, I hope he enjoyed it. "How did that go?" His smile became warm and gentle, "I loved it honestly." It made me happy, just to see Luke so happy and satisfied with something.

I got up and stretched, "Where are you going?" I looked back at a somewhat upset Luke, "Pajamas?" He looks a bit embarrassed at first but he quickly changed his face, "Leaving me already?" I rolled my eyes, "I'll be back." I left the room and went to get ready for bed, my stomach hurts for some unknown reason. It wasn't a bad hurt, not from hunger, no this is from something else. I couldn't tell what it was. I put it off to the side and went back to getting dressed. I took a deep breath in as I walked back out, Luke seemed exhausted. He laid on the couch lazily trying to keep his eyes open. I ruffled the top of his head, "Get some sleep." He slowly looked up at me, "But-" I shook my head and shushed him, "You're tired." He let out a sigh, "Alright. Goodnight, (Y/N)." The blond gets up without any other argument and heads off to bed.

I smile as he walks away and head to the couch to sit and relax for a bit. The slight pain from earlier started to disappear. I sighed in frustration just not knowing where they were from. I got up and headed towards the room without thought and walked into the guest room with the bunk beds. Luke walked in and crashed on the bed without getting into pajamas which made me laugh a bit. The exhaustion must've finally caught up to him. "Goodnight Thief," I let out a whisper and crawled up to the top bunk this time. There was a small murmur from the bottom bunk which I was able to hear, looking at you Apollo. "Goodnight Sunshine." Luke was half asleep yet still managed to say goodnight to me, needless to say that the pain came back. At this point it was just plain annoying. I tossed to the other side and let my eyes shut while the time passed.

The morning came quicker than expected, but that was probably because I was sleeping. I looked around and heard Luke stir around on the bunk bellow. A blond head popped up from the side of the bed and his blue/gold eyes stared at me. "Morning Sunshine." I laughed a bit at his morning greet. "Morning Thief." Luke pouted a bit, "Will I ever get a better nickname?" I slowly sat up and shook my head to tell him no. He rolls his eyes, "Breakfast?" I shrug and climb down, "Food sounds good." I make my way towards the kitchen with Luke following me, I look for an actual meal to have while he just heads straight for the granola bars. "Don't you ever eat anything else?" He shakes his head as he takes the last one and opens it. "We need more by the way." I laugh and pull out some cereal, "I'll make sure to pick some up when I go out." He raised an eyebrow, "You're going out?" I roll my eyes, "Christmas is next week Luke."

Luke panicked, he didn't know what to get and for whom to get it all for. He sat on the couch with his head in his hands, "I'll be here when you get back, probably still making a mental list." I laughed and went off to get ready. Nico was taking me to go out and make last minute decisions for gifts. I heard a knock at the door and was greeted with the Son of Hades. "Ready?" I looked around, "Let me find my shoes." Nico laughed and shook his head before coming in and sitting down next to Luke. They started their own small chat over gifts while I started to ramble to myself in search of my shoes. I finally found them and went the living room with them on, "Ready." Nico chuckles and makes a comment about me taking long enough. I rolled my eyes, "Let's go Neeks." I heard Nico's annoyed groan as he followed me out the door into the December chill. "All the nicknames out there and you use that one.." Nico starts muttering under his breath. I roll my eyes and laugh, "You're fine."

We head towards the small shopping center, "So what are you getting everyone?" I looked around panicked, "I still have no idea." Nico grabbed my arm and dragged me to a smaller shop, "Let's try here." The shop had dark purple walls but bright lights all hanging from the roof. There was a smiling red head girl smiling to me, she seemed a few years older considering her height. "Welcome, anything I can help you with?" I pulled my arm away from Nico and walked towards a shelf of keychain sand necklaces. "We're just browsing." She nodded to Nico and walked over to me. "Anything in specific I could help you find?" I stared at the keychains and necklaces in front of me. "They're great, aren't they?" I smiled at them and agreed with the shop owner. She picked up a small keychain in the shape of a caduceus. "They're easy to communicate with each other."

I raised an eyebrow, "communicate?" She nods and her short orange hair bouncing with her head. "All the items here are bounded by some sort of magic." I stare at awe at the items laying in front of me. "How?" She smiled and grabbed a matching keychain, "Well, I charm them myself. Daughter of Hecate, it comes natural." She leans over, "They're available for mix and match." I laugh a bit, "Thank you." She walked off to go help Nico out. I stared at the chains a bit longer, 'Would Logan like it?' I shrugged and picked up a sun necklace and matching keychain. It was a simple design but in all reality it was the thought that counted. This way we could talk without actually being there. I pick it up and bring it to the counter where the red head was standing.

"That's all?" I nod and hand over the cash that she asked for. "Thank you!" Nico and I walked out together and went to go look around some more. I looked towards the different shop windows peering towards the roads.

I needed something for everyone else, I asked Nico what he wanted but turned me down. "I don't want anything (Y/N)." I sighed and looked around some more, "You're my best friend, I have to get you something." He rolled his eyes, "You're back, that's enough for me." I smiled and continued my search for something to wrap as a gift for everyone. The only people left I had to buy for was Luke and Will. I bought little meaningful nicknacks for everyone else. "What should I get Will?" Nico looks over to me, "Well, with classes and everything I'm not sure what he would need." I raise an eyebrow to Nico, "No idea at all?" "I mean, he has a problem staying up at night to finish homework." My eyes light up, "coffee?" He laughed, "If only that worked, I've tried."

I thought a bit, "He's so sentimental about friends and family, what about a locket? Of us?" Nico thought about it. "We could always get it in a keychain form." I smiled at the thought, "that'd be great." We went towards a different shop where Nico and I took a picture and had it put in the locket.

I looked around one last time to all the shops, it was getting late and I still needed to get something for Luke. "Still no ideas?" I shook my head and looked around frantically, I needed something. I looked around to the same shop I was in earlier, the one owned by the daughter of Hecate. "Let's go in again." Nico doesn't question me but instead just opens the door for me. "Welcome back!" She smiled brightly to me. "Need something else?" I walked towards the counter and asked her if my idea could happen. She nodded, "I would need both people here and both pieces of jewelry." I nodded and asked her for her Christmas hours. "I have some appointments so I'll be here." I nodded, "Can I make one for Christmas as well?" She nodded and pulled out a small book, "2 o'clock work for you?" I nod and thank her. We walk back to the apartment with all our gifts in hand. "Thanks Nico." He shrugs, "I needed to get it done too." I let out a small giggle and open the front door. Nico leaves my bags in the living room and heads back to his apartment with his few gifts.

Before wrapping I head over towards the rooms. The main bedroom has the lights on so I lightly knock, "Hold on!" Quick rustling of what I think is wrapping paper and boxes is all I hear. A small thud quickly follows, "Luke?" There's a pause before I get a muffled response, "Yes?" I try hard to contain my laughter, "Did you just fall?" There's another pause, "No?" I open the door just to see Luke face first on the floor. My laughter escapes and is completely unstoppable. "This isn't funny!" That made my laughter harder. Luke's foot was over a now crinkled box, "Clean up and get some sleep." He rolls his eyes and slowly stands up. I walk out shouting down the hall, "I hope you didn't steal those!"

A/N WOWWIE WAS THAT CRAPPY. I'm so sorry, I'm so caught up in school. I'm actually writing this in class because I finished my work quickly. I really want to get into the real plot I have planned but I can't because timing. I'm so excited for the real conflicts to show up. Enjoy the small stuff like this while you can because you never know when it'll stop. Anyways, I'll stop my authors note at that. I hope you guys somehow enjoyed this crappy work and I'll see you beautiful Diamondz in the rough, next chapter! Love you! ❤️ ~Jewels
