The day seemed normal enough when I woke up. Luke was still dead asleep, as made apparent by the silence. I traveled towards the kitchen and checked the time quickly, 10 AM. I smiled at the fact I was making good time today. I quickly rinsed off and got dressed for the day. At 10:30 I had walked over to the guest room and woken up Luke, "I'm heading to work, see you later." I headed towards the door, "Hey, (Y/N)?" I looked back at him curiously. "Can we talk about.." His voice faltered, I knew he was talking about last night. I looked around for something to distract me, anything. I looked down to the ground and brushed my hand against my lips. "Not now Luke, I'll be late for work." I saw him nod from the corner of my vision and look down disappointed, "I'll see you after I get off then." I nodded slowly and stepped out of the room. I let out a sigh and grabbed a jacket from the master bedroom. I usually would've worn Luke's but it just felt wrong at the moment.

I stepped out the door and head towards the cafe. Hazel smiled at me as I stepped in and took off my jacket. "Morning." She waved and pointed to my jacket, "That's new. What happened to the old?" I glanced down at my grey sweatshirt, it felt so wrong holding it instead of the black one. "Oh, that one wasn't mine." Her mouth made the shape of an 'o' and she didn't bring up the topic for the rest of the day. The day went on just like any other, the few customers that showed up everyday and a few unique faces I haven't seen before. A spilled coffee I cleaned up, a few people in a friendly conversation catching up or making plans for the upcoming weekend. It made me smile, even with everything going on between Luke and I, I still managed to enjoy the atmosphere of the cafe. It was around 6 or 7 when Hazel told me I could take off for the night, "Are you sure? I can lock up tonight." She smiled sympathetically, "(Y/N), I know there's something going on between you and Luke. You need to go back and work through it together." I let out a small sigh, "Okay... I'll see you tomorrow." She waved me off as I slipped on my sweatshirt.

It was foreign, walking without Luke's jacket. The black zip-up hoodie I had stolen when we were at camp. How long ago was that, a month? I shivered from the sudden breeze hitting me. That's right, Luke and I reunited a month ago. 'Technically, you've known him your whole life.' Can I even consider those memories? They seem so distant, yet so close. I stopped at a bench and sat down for a bit. My mind drifting towards those distant recollections of my childhood, of my first love, of my first time at Camp Half-Blood. The scene shifted right in front of me. Some bubble like objects floated just in reach. I reached out my hand to one, just to identify what it was. It zoomed away from my hand, as if it were running away from me. "So close, isn't it? Yet so far all at the same time." I frantically searched for the source of the voice. "You won't find me, child." He started to laugh, his laugh just sent shivers down my spine. It was so dark and demented. "I can however, persuade these to come to you." The bubbles floated closer, in arms reach. I hesitated, but reached out to them just for them all to fly away once again. "Only, if you agree to aid me in my plans." I looked at my outstretched palm. I was so close to those bubbles.

These almost ghost like, purple bubbles floating a yard way from me. I squinted towards one to see exactly what they were. It slowly made it way towards me, inching towards me so I could clearly see it's contents. It was like a movie on mute, the perfect resolution but the noise was no where to be heard. The sight of two children relaxing, watching a horror movie together. The small girl was surrounded by most of the candy and consumed by the blankets. She seemed happy, as if she was finally enjoying life for once. Oh gods... She had pulled up the blanket a bit and a bruise or two were exposed. The male sitting with her pulled the blanket back down and smiled warmly at her. He was protecting her, it almost seemed as if he couldn't stand to see anything else happen to her. Was she his world? His everything? They were younger of course, so it was harder to tell.

I reached for my arm subconsciously, just rubbing where those bruises would've been if I had them. "I knew you'd remember." The voice began to laugh again, I had almost forgotten he was even there. His voice caused goosebumps on my skin, I could feel them under my palm. "No..." it slipped right through my teeth, not even aware of what I was saying. The tension surrounding me grew, "What?" His voice grew sinister, I needed out. Now. "I said no." The purple bubbles in front of me popped, the purple tint slowly fading away. It shattered my heart. I stood there and watched as my happy memories just pop and vanish for quite possibly forever. It almost felt as if the whole world was ready to crumble beneath my feet. "Don't take me up on my offer, don't expect to not get hurt, (Y/N)." All the darkness in my filed of vision slowly deteriorated. I retracted my arm back to my side. I was numb; I couldn't feel my body. It just all seemed too unreal for me to comprehend.
