Almost sixty reads! That's actually incredible, thanks guys. It actually took me a while to want to work on this chapter, but I'm glad I did, because it was easier to write than I thought it would be. Enjoy chapter seven of Perseverance!

Amongst the purple ruins stood a house, small but homely.
"This must be Toriels home," I thought to myself. As if reading my mind, the kind creature called Toriel replied,
"It isn't much, but I make the most of it. Especially with someone to keep me company."
Toriel looked at me and smiled, but her deep eyes showed a different story, one of past despair. "Come in, my child, and make yourself at home."
When I walked inside, I was shocked to be greeted by a room that looked surprisingly different than the rest of the underground that I had seen. The floors were made of yellow wood, and there was a large staircase leading to what I presumed was the basement. Toriel took me by the hand and led me into a hall until I faced a large door.
"This shall be your room, my child. I hope it is to your liking," she told me, waiting for a response. I opened the door and found myself in what looked to already have been home to a small child. There was a twin bed in the corner, small, but infinitely better than sleeping in the woods would've been. A rather large dresser stood near the bed, the door cracked open enough that I could see many different kinds of garments, all with yellow and green stripes or in purple, like the long dress that Toriel wore. There were also boxes of old toys, dusty from years of isolation. There had obviously been a child here at some point. I wondered who it had been, and what had happened to them. Then, I remembered the loneliness in Toriels eyes when she had talked about wanting company, and I decided that it would be better not to ask.
I turned to her.
"It's perfect," I said with a smile.
"Thank you very much." And with that, Toriel took my hand once more and led me into another room with a fireplace and a chair. There was also a huge bookshelf in the corner, many of the books labeled "History." I could not wait to read all of them and learn as much as I could about monsters.
"Sit down, child," spoke Toriel, as she gestured to a table on the other side of the room.
"You must be hungry, after such a long trip. Let me get you something to eat." I thanked her, and she disappeared into yet another room, presumably the kitchen. I was exhausted, yet curious, so soon I found myself wandering through the room, towards the bookshelf. I retrieved one of the books and opened to the page that looked like it had been open to most often. It told about the Great War between humans and monsters, and about how the humans sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell.
Wow, I thought, The history of the underground is so enriching!
After a few minutes of reading the history book, Toriel returned, holding a foul smelling tin that looked suspiciously like a pie. I really hoped that she didn't expect me to eat that, though at this point, I supposed I had no right to be picky.
"I've made some snail pie for us, dear, but I suspect that monster food may be too exotic for you to eat now, so I brought you a chocolate bar. I'm afraid I haven't gotten groceries yet, so it's all I have on hand," Toriel spoke, handing me a frozen brand name chocolate bar. I gratefully thanked her, and I scarfed down the chocolate as quickly as possible, as it's been awhile since I had eaten the last of my food supply. It was quite overwhelming, having seen a whole new word, especially one that I've been fantasizing about since I was little. I spoke with Toriel for hours, and eventually, my eyes blinked more and more slowly, and my breathing became elongated. I yawned, and Toriel finally said,
"Oh, you must be exhausted after such a long journey! You should be getting to bed." I agreed, my feet dragging as I stumbled down the hall, until I reached the room that had once belonged to another child. I was so fatigued from the past day, that almost immediately after my head hit the pillow, I had fallen fast asleep.Ok, so now I'm realizing that this chapter didn't establish too much in terms of plot, sorry about that. Hopefully my writers block will disappear soon enough. I liked not rushing to post a new chapter though. I think I'll stick with posting on Sundays for a bit
(random person:
but Sophia, I thought that there's no post on Sunday!
Me: heheheheheheh shut up).
Well, see ya
