Chapter 36

**9 Months Later**

"Congratulations, you've given birth to a healthy baby girl," The doctor smiled as he handed me my little bundle of joy. Eman and I wanted to keep the gender a secret, but we already had a name in mind.

"Whats her name?" The nurse asked gently.

"Veronika... Veronika Maree Rodriguez," I kissed her tiny little forehead. She gave a little cry as I handed her to Emmanuel.

Looking up at Emmanuel, he looked so happy. He was a natural father, the way he held Veronika in his arms, i knew he was going to be a great father.

"I believe you have some visitors," The doctor opened the door and Len and Jodie came in.

"Look Harley! You have a new friend!" Jodie stood next to Emmanuel as Harley lay in her arms.

"Congratulations Bec," Len gave me a kiss on the cheek. I gave him a huge smile.

"Can I hold her?" Jodie asked.

"Go ahead," I smiled. Jodie gave Harley to Len and picked up my little Veronika.

"Whats her name?" Jodie bounced up and down.

"Veronika Maree," Eman said proudly.

"That's a beautiful name," Len was sitting in a chair with Harley resting on his shoulder.

"Wheres the baby?!" All the justice boys came through the door.

"Boys, meet Veronika Maree," Eman kissed me as he said our baby's name.

"Awhh, she looks just like you Bec," Lukas smiled.

That was the last comment I heard. I was tired. As much as I would've loved to hold my daughter once more, I drifted off to sleep.

"First time home babe," I shut the boot to the car. The hospital kindly gave us some supplies to help us with Veronika. I strapped her into her booster seat and climbed in next to her.

We got home and we opened the door. The whole house had been babyproofed.

"Paulie! What did you do?!" I gave him a hug.

"Well, I baby-proofed the house, so little bubba over there is safe and sound," Paulie smiled proudly.

"See look! No more glass coffee table with sharp edges... I moved the couch and made more room so we could play with her... And, I made the spare room, into the new baby room!" Paulie lead us upstairs to a room that I never really noticed when I moved in. It had a cot, a baby chest and so much more.

"Paulie! This is amazing!" I hugged him again. "How could I ever thank you?!"

"You don't, you're my best friend, it's what best friends do," I showed Veronika her new room. I sat on a rocking chair next to the crib.

I rocked gently back and forth, Emmanuel was standing behind me. I looked up at him and smiled.

"We did it honey," I smiled at him.

"I love you," He kissed me lightly.

"Love you too,"
