This was it. The final show, after this everyone was going to head back home, to their regular lives. My eyes were glued to Beau as he did his thing on stage along with the other boys. I don’t know why I hadn’t paid attention before, they were actually pretty good.
They had talent.
They were handsome.
They were great.
And then finally, they bowed in front of a screaming crowd of Princess fangirls. It was all over now. Their final show here in Sydney had ended.
Around me, the auditorium filled with cheers and applause for the five teenage boys. I saw Beau and smiled when he caught my gaze with his. I grabbed Illitia who was clad in a trench coat and wrapped my arms around her in excitement. All of us were wearing our Janoskians hoodies except her, which was weird because she was the one fangirling the hardest on the first show. Tawny had on her signed Luke Brooks sweatshirt and Lissette was wearing a Daniel Sahyounie autographed sweatshirt, Illitia glaring at her all the while because of it. I, of course had on my Beau Brooks signed hoodie, we ran down the steps and I landed in Beau's strong arms.
“You were great.” I said against his ear.
“No, the Janoskians were great.” He said, always such a firm believer of team work. He twirled me around making me scream with laughter.
As he placed me down he placed a kiss on my lips, around us the flash of bulbs went off and the press questioned us non-stop, trying to get an interview, while the other boys celebrated. But none of that mattered, it was just us; Beau and I. I pulled away from him and he placed something around my neck, it was a chain with a heart shaped pendant that had the word ‘Barium’, an element from the periodic table engraved on it because the initials for barium are ‘BA’. I laughed at his cleverness, as I was studying sciences at the university. On the back, I saw it had the letters ‘B&A’. I grabbed his hand and walked him over to the Royal family-my family. My father and Grandmother looked startled at first, but then they smiled at him warmly and shook his hand.
“This is Beau Brooks, my fiancé, Beau this is my family.” I looked at my Grandmother with pleading eyes.
“It's nice to meet you, young man.” she said, smiling at him and winking at me. She surprised me when she pulled him in for a hug.

“Come on!” My sister Lissette, who I’ve gotten used to, I might add, said pulling us through the crowd. She wasn’t that bad, she was actually kind of nice. But I wasn’t going to let her know that. She was a big help in making me feel better after Daniel dumped me. I didn’t tell anyone but Ariadne why I was sad, but Lissette was still always trying to cheer me up as if she knew what was happening.
“Where are we going?” I groaned. Trying to run in Prada heels is not an easy feat, let me tell you that. I was in no mood to go anywhere or meet any of her friends or whatever. I just wanted to get into bed and die after Daniel left me. I know it sounds dramatic, but I love him. Without him, I feel worthless. Like a worm, or last year’s clothes. Whichever is worse.
Last years clothes, definitely.
“I have a friend.” Lissette said.
“YOU have a friend. That is unheard of. I always saw you as the lone wolf type, dear sister.” I laughed.
“Oh shut up, Illitia.” Lissette said, turning to stick her tongue out at me, “Anyway, I have this friend who I've had tea with almost every single day since I've arrived and he has this girl who he wants to talk to but he doesn't know how to because he hurt her feelings. He doesn’t know if she’d want to speak to him again.”
I didn’t know who this person was or why she was dragging me out to see them. “Why?” I found myself asking. “Not that I care about your friend’s life or anything.” I added, trying to sound casual.
“Because she hurt him too, but he doesn't care about the past anymore.” She said.
“Where are you taking me, woman?” I asked. I froze when we found Daniel, sitting on the stage by himself while the other boys took photos with the fans and signed some merchandise. He looked up at me and jumped up.
“I'm taking his girl to him. He needs to let her know how he feels. He’s had a lot of time to think things through now.” Lissette said, letting go of my hand and walking away back to the Spanish Royal Family.
Daniel walked up to me and I felt my mouth dry up. “Hey.” he greeted me in a low voice. He still seemed a bit sad and he also seemed nervous.
“I wore your jersey today. I remember you said you wanted me to wear it to the final show…” I said, opening up my brown trench coat to let him see I was indeed wearing the red soccer jersey he had given me. Daniel smiled wide and pulled me against him, he kissed me with a passion I hadn't felt from him in a while. “Daniel, I'm so sor-“ He cut me off my putting a finger to my lips.
“I don't care, Illitia. I just want to be with you. Let's start off new?” He asked. Then he added with a smirk, “Hello Princess Illitia, my name is Daniel. You might not know me…But I know you. I just…I think you’re beautiful.” He recited the first words he ever said to me the first time we met and it brought tears of joy to my face.
I smiled happily and replied, just like the first time, “Do you think I’m beautiful just because I’m a Princess?”
He shook his head no, continuing the conversation. “I think you’re beautiful because you’re you.”
I nodded and looked back at the small mob that is the Spanish Royal family. Lissette caught me looking and signaled a thumbs up to us. Even after I was so horrible to her, she was still willing to help me out. “Would you like to meet my family?” I asked him shyly, smiling slightly at him. After so long, my family was finally going to meet my Prince who wasn’t really a Prince. He was a just a normal boy from Melbourne.
“I'd love to.” He said. I took his hand and lead into the Spanish mob, feeling at ease for the first time in all my life.
I was born a Princess, but I wasn't going to let that define me anymore.
