Chapter 7

Cover for the night (valenta’s P.O.V)

We got to the caves in no time and the guys had calmed down and stopped the waves of constant insults they were throwing at me. I quickly removed my armor and slumped against a rock my eyes slowly fluttered closed ,soon I awoke to a warm masculine sent. Confusion swept over me as my eyes shot open only to find a gorgeous Aaron leaning against me his warmth flowing onto me bringing comfort. He opened his eyes staring into mine what he did next shocked me placing his hand on my waist he pulled me towards him I was fighting so hard to control myself he had such a powerful warm aura and id felt his energy before it was amazing I had to get away I wasn’t strong enough .

I pushed him away and shifted in the other direction. I heard him stand up and walk back to Clara. There was nothing I want more then to drain him his energy was the first live energy id ever drained and I remember it so vividly…I had to stop thinking of it I released my energy and fell into a deathly sleep .

Ross’s P.O.V  

I sat silently trying to sleep. Aaron could project energy that was a rare gift but what Valenta could do was way more impressive , every time  I looked into those passionate green eyes I felt the need to stare id never been so captivated the power ,she just exulted strength and I knew Aaron felt the same way she had that effect on people which may explain why we feel the constant need to point out her faults more to remind ourselves she wasn’t perfect that and to see that scary intensity she gets when we tease her.

I was deep in thoughts when I heard footsteps not more than fifty meters away and getting closer fast. I had to think fast pulling rocks to the entrance of the cave was easy then looked over to Aaron who seemed to be in a thoughtful restless sleep. I woke him quickly and went up to Valenta and tried to wake her but I couldn’t it was so strange the ground under her were pulsing from gold to silver and I felt her pulse she had non. Thoughts rushed around my head at an alarming rate .I saw Aarons shock as he too checked for pulse as he touched he neck she sprung back to life and the glowing rocks faded.

I'v'e been around for centuries and never met anyone like her something new everyday she was defiantly the right person to invite onto this quest. Aaron was also a useful asset well as long as he stays away from her hell be an asset because something tells me her power is strengthening at an uncontrollable rate.

Valenta’s P.O.V

Both Ross and Aaron were staring at me like I came back from the dead what the heck. That was the best rest id had in ages I’m not even sure what I did but I felt amazing.

“what?” I smirked as they stared at me..they looked away my smirk grew a little and I started tacking up I knew I wouldn’t get a response from them.

Angel gave me a suspicious look I ignored it and finished tacking. I mounted smirk still firmly planted on my face. They gave me questioning looks but neither actually asked anything they had such strong presence on the bond but I had up icy cold walls. I wanted to know why they looked so shocked but I knew better then to keep asking. So I left it and dropped the walls it was nice to feel their presence but as soon as I saw their auras I felt their energy I wanted it my thirst grew and I threw those walls up again.

I felt it so strongly I could almost taste the energy flowing into me how strong I feel when I drain that ultimate power. And the more the thought consumed me the more it seemed ok like there would be nothing wrong with pulling the life out of someone anyone. Soon I was being screamed at and angel threw me I tumbled onto the floor landing firmly on my feet .

I glared at angel then glanced to the side and all I saw was grey it took a moment or two to realize id been draining I must be getting stronger because all the bushes trees even the dirt beneath our feet was pale lifeless grey.  I glanced from face to face only seeing shock and confusion.

“Valenta what the hell!” Aarons angry voice travelled through the air like an arrow stabbing me through the heart.

I looked over to him and saw Clara lying wings spread over her. What had I done my mind now clear and back to normal .

“is, is she okay?” I asked shaking then Aaron sat in front of her and covered her with his wings I blinding flash of light flared and then seemed to be absorbed by clara who was now doing an almost vertical rear. She snorted and began to charge towards me.

I began to step back and wondered why Aaron didn’t stop her next thing I knew my Dark Angel stood vertically in front of me snorting and chopping forward Clara spun around and gave angel a threatening look he simply stood tall with a proud stance knowing she wouldn’t win this fight she stood down and angel relaxed a bit. I got back on and all I saw was Ross giving me one of his most deadly stares.

I just looked away and moved angel on I don’t know what he’s so upset about he’s the one that did this to me he’s the one that opened this door that I cant seem to shut. Claras fine anyway and why didn’t he stop her what was he thinking well I guess ill never know I have to keep my walls up from now on. Ross seemed confused but not upset. He just looked at me and gave me that sexy half smile.

I gave him a small smile back and faced forward again.  I felt almost happy for a moment there until Angel linked me to ask me what the hell I was thinking I couldn’t answer it he obviously didn’t feel the thirst like I did. I wouldn’t know how to explain it other then the uncontrollable urge, a need to drain, to steal that power another living things life.

‘I got lost in my thoughts I’m not sure what happened.’ was all I could say and it wasn’t a lie I really wasn’t  sure.

‘ok but be careful ,Clara’s one thing but I’m not sure you could take Aaron’ I was kind of offended but he was right the only way I could take on Aaron was draining him and he still may be able to total me in the time it takes to do that.

Angel walked with so much confidence I wouldnt haave known he was petrified if we werent bonded, we were approaching the carinek river I was nervous there  were many legends about this river. I looked over to Ross he didn’t seem the least bit concerned that the river was only about a hundred meters away. I didn’t dare even look at Aaron.

I wasn’t sure if he was going to drop it I hoped he would. We were now on the river bank starring at the rushing glistening water as the light stroked it. It was enchanting. I looked to my side and Ross gave me an encouraging smile I winked at him throwing one of my more menacing smiles in his direction he almost let out a laugh ,I then looked to the other side were Aaron stood all I got was an icy glare I couldn’t believe how he was holding onto this it was all his fault anyway.

I took a deep breath and stepped into the water slowly...
