I walked downstairs awkwardly, making sure I looked okay, and Sophie was there, her face locked together with the mysterious boy.
"Oh ew, guys. Don't get a room, no funny business here." I said looking disgusted, while making funny hand movements.
Sophie pulled away giggling into the chest of a very good looking boy. "That, is my sister. Unfortunately." She winked in my direction
I looked offended and smiled "You love me really." I said before reaching my hand to the boy in front of me "Nice to meet you..." I trailed off, letting him give me his name. He looked awkward enough as he was, and seeing my hand and how friendly I was kind of worried him. Sophie gave him a reassuring look and his face softened as he smiled at her. I held back the "awwh" that was threatening to escape my mouth
"Jackson." He smiled awkwardly at me and shook my hand. I turned to the two people standing behind us "Jackson, these are my best friends. Tanya and Jasmine." He shook their hands, still with the same expression as before.
I heard a door close and Lincoln sauntered out of his bedroom as always, in a fresh shirt and pair of rugged jeans. No shoes, as always. "Hi, I'm Lincoln, nice to meet you." Lincoln's voice was cold, and Sophie looked shocked at him. "Link, be nice." She hissed. "I need to get to know who my sister is dating first, especially if he is my age. He might want to. Try stuff." His eyebrow rose and he looked to Jackson.
"Link!" I hissed. "Sorry Jackson, he's just a bit protective, he's been that way since Dad left. Come this way and the girls will start cooking dinner. Can I offer you a tea or coffee?"
Jackson shook his head, looking vulnerable as he looked down at the ground, and played with his hands. His shoulders relaxed when Sophie grabbed his hand, leading him down the hallway and into the kitchen.
Jackson sat down next to Sophie, looking a lot calmer when her hand was in his. I looked to Lincoln who was burning holes in this guy. "Oh cut it out Link. Look at them. They are happy, let them be." Lincoln's eyes softened as he looked at their intertwined hands, and smiled at me, wrapping his arm around my shoulders. I knew that was all he needed to for me to believe he wasn't actually going to kill him. Yet.
------ After Dinner-------
Sophie and Jackson escaped to her room, and I warned her about the whole open door thing. She muttered under her breath her answer and I shook my head.
I stood in the kitchen, running my hands over my face, looking a bit distraught. I washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen three times before Tanya pulled me away.
"Come on Mol, let's go upload that video!" She smiled at me, tugging on my arm like a three year old wanting candy. I followed laughing at her and walked up the stairs, her still attached to my arm, and into the room. Jas was already there, cleaning up.
"Jas you really need to stop doing that. Put on music at least. Just try something." Jas looked up at me and smiled "I know, I know. But I can't help it."
She sat on my bed, before clambering over to the speakers and pressing play on what we were listening to before. I danced around the room to the music, feeling a little bit less anxious of my sister, and plumping myself down on the desk chair, where the camera had already been plugged in.
"This is going to take a while, so Arizona?" I said putting on my best puppy dog eyes to Jas, who had hidden the drinks perfectly. She sighed and rummaged around trying to find them "Here, I guess you deserved it."
Tanya was huddled on my reading chair in the other corner with a book in her hands and reading while dancing slightly in her seat to the music.
"YOU CALLED ME UP. IT'S LIKE A BROKEN RECORD. SAYIN THAT YOUR HEART HURTS. THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER GET OVER HIM GETTING OVER YOU."
