Chapter Six

I sighed as I leant against the head board of the bed in the hotel. My body sunk into the big king sized bed full of pillows, eating me up. I smiled at the comfort of the bed and that I was away in Europe with my two favourite people in the world.

It has been about three months since my mother passed, and as she requested, Jas, Tanya and I all headed off on our big adventure. We vlogged everyday of our holiday, uploaded regularly, still doing our challenge videos, beauty and fashion and of course our advice videos.

We were currently in Spain, coming over from England and Ireland. It was warm and sunny and Jas and Tan both sat sunbaking on the terrace. I looked over at Tanya, reading as always, and Jas, texting ... again and then me, lying on the bed as my music played loudly in my ears, reading a book Tanya suggested, as she has been doing since high school. I was almost finished anyway and I started it the day before.

It was a comfortable silence, making me smile as my favourite song came on, one I had been listening to since I popped out of my mother. Well, it's true! Mum and I have very very similar music taste and it had been growing the same. We would rock out in the car to 5 Seconds Of Summer and One Direction, also adding in Pink Floyd and Blink 182.

I miss her. I really do, but it is time that I moved on in my life, not letting grief take over everything that I had dreamed of since I could walk. Lincoln and Sophie were fantastic, still in school, getting amazing grades. Jackson and Sophie still going strong, Lincoln still having a huge crush on Jas. It's cute I admit, but still very weird, he's a stud, all the girls at school are chasing him, but he won't have it. Of course I have to say that, he is my brother after all.

I finished the book and sighed as I realised it was over. I placed the book down, instantly losing it in the mass of pillows cascaded over the bed. I rolled out of the comfortable cloud, and literally rolled out of bed, stumbling over to my suitcase to get out a nice cute outfit for the rest of the day and heading into the bathroom.

I bought in a cute pair of mint high wasted shorts with a black belt and a white loose over the shoulder shirt that tucked into the shorts. I pulled on a nice pair of converse that were bright purple with black laces, I let my hair fall over my shoulders in their natural waves, tammed down just a little bit, before putting a brief amount of make up on and grabbing my sunglasses and small shoulder bag with my phone, little vlogging camera and purse inside.

"Guys I'm going out for a little bit and taking the vesper! I will be back soon!" I called out before walking out of the massive room.

I hear muffled goodbyes as I pulled the vesper keys out and walked to the elevator. It felt nice to be kind of free for a little while, away from the normal Australian lives, wallowing in the never ending heat and eating vegemite on toast. Even though while we are away that seems to be what we have been eating for breakfast anyway. I hopped in the elevator quickly, seeing it empty, taking a quick selfie and uploading it onto instagram before pulling out my vlogging camera.

"So here I am! In a fancy hotel in Spain. I cannot believe this. I know we have been here for a while but you never get over the rush of travelling. Just about to head out by myself on the vesper as the other two be lazy and sunbake." I giggled panning the camera around the hotel lobby as I walked out of the elevator. The conserge at the desk smiled up at me as I waved, walking out into the blinding light. "Wow, it's a bit bright out here huh? Where should we be off to? I think we need to top up on some Arizona and Oreos, so maybe start with the shops first." I winked at the camera and stopped recording as I started up the vesper and pulled out of the hotel parking lot. I pulled the camera out again as I rode down a stretch of road.

I pulled up at the store, taking out my camera yet again and pressed the recording button. "Finally here!" I walked in through the doors and called out to the camera "honeeeyy I'm hooooommmee!" A few people gave me weird looks but some girls giggled. I walked through the chilly area, thankful to get out of the heat for a little while. You think, being Australian, I would always be tanned or used to the heat? Yeah no, you never get over the heat. Ever.
