-------- A month later ----------

BEEP BEEEP BEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEEP BEEEEP

My breath caught in my throat every second as my own mother's heartbeat picked up in speed. It was fast but they were sustained longer than normal too and I knew it wasn't long at all. Mum was talking to Lincoln while I sat in the corner of the room with my knees against my chest and my hair sticking to my tear stained cheeks. I was back in the horrible habit of biting my nails and my sweater shirt sleeves were over my hands soaked from the tears that kept falling.

Link was being calm, and holding her hand as she told him everything he needed to do. She did this the other day with me, we knew this was coming, and I haven't left this room since, only going on very few toilet breaks. I was getting unhealthy, sick and less chirpy and I hadn't uploaded a video in weeks. Tanya and Jas had been in and out every now and then every day, bringing me coffee that I insisted they brought me.

Sophie and Jackson walked in through the door, hand in hand, and she looked up at me, tears spilling over finally, her letting go. She knew nothing was right as soon as she walked through the door. She raced over to the bed pulling mum into a tight hug, which I know I should have been doing too.

Jackson's eyes started tearing and he walked over to me, sitting beside me, the tears spilling and running silently down his cheeks. He pulled me into a hug and I finally let the sobs go before being passed into Lincoln's arms. I felt his stomach convulse as the final beeps filled the room.

I pulled away from Lincoln, looking towards my mother, her body weak and small against the wires holding her life for that tiny bit longer. I stared at the heart moniter, seeing the numbers get lower and lower, faster. Dropping drastically, seeing her chest heaving, fighting until the last moment. The tears had stopped falling down my face, finally drying up, and I stared blankly at the machine, willing it to put us out of our misery.

Beeeeeeeeeeeep.

The final beep, as nurses and doctors rushed in all I heard and kept hearing was that final beep. Sophie was in Jackson's arms, her sobs a distant sound like the cars on the busy street outside of the window. Lincoln's head was in my shoulder as I hugged him, feeling his sobs racking against my body. Jackson didn't look much better, still silent but a few sobs falling out every now and then, his cheeks stained with tears, more cascading down his face as he looked at Mum's lifeless body.

I finally bought myself to look to her, and the sight of her lifeless eyes broke my heart making fresh tears fall down my cheeks. The nurses were a blur as they untangled the wires from my mother's body and pulled the machines away from the bed. I saw the doctor start towards me, but Jackson stopped him before he got closer. My breath hitched again and I let out a shaky breath before letting go of Lincoln and wiping away the newly shed tears while walking over to the doctor.

"Sorry about your-"

"Yeah yeah say what you came here to say I don't have the time doctor."

The doctor looked surprised at my outburst but nodded his head calmly before continuing "We are always obliged to talk to the guardian or first born of the family members about funeral arrangements."

I sighed shaking my head "Look I know you are just doing your job? But my mother just died, so if it is okay with you I will talk to you about this another time. Right now I need to be with my family and make sure they are okay."

The doctor nodded but gave me a harsh look before scurrying away. I turned back around and stopped in my tracks. Sophie had walked over to mum and shooed the nurses away so she could sit down. I drowned out her words as the tears pushed out the pressure too much for me to keep them in anymore. She looked so small, her hand gripped around the tanned hand in front of her.
