Sorry, Corporal (Levi x Reader)

Chapter 6

Within a few hours, you were out of the hospital and training again. You hadn't missed much, so you only did a couple hours, but you caught up quickly nonetheless. After training, you'd decided to go and clean yourself up and head out for a bit.

"Going somewhere?" You hear a cold voice behind you as you leave your room. You don't need to turn around to know who it is, so you merely stop and sigh.

"Out." Levi narrows his eyes.

"Let me join you?" You scoff, shaking your head and laughing. You turn around and look at him dead in the eye.

"I would've invited you if I wanted company." You may have loved Levi, but you weren't in the mood for anyone right now.

He lets out a small 'tch' sound before speaking again.

"It wasn't a question. I need to talk to you about a couple things, so come on." He stood upright and walked past you, heading outside to the stables.

"I was planning on walking, Corporal." You know how much he hates the formal crap, especially when you're alone, so you decided to tease him.

"Tough. Mount up, Cadet." You scowl, getting on your black horse. It was similar to Levi's, and would only let you ride him. You tap his hind leg with your foot.

"Come on, Koma-san."

You ride in silence for the entire way. But for you, it's peaceful, and you love hearing the night-time sounds. Levi seems a little pissed, but he seems to always look like that so you didn't bother asking what was wrong, even if it was more today than usual.

We eventually stop by a small cluster of trees, but one in particular stood out. You jump off your horse, your legs numb from the journey, and stumble over to a tree at the edge of the cluster. You both tie your horses there, and you look at Levi. He grabs your wrist softly and leads you to one tree in particular, that grew out in a way at the bottom that it'd created a cave-like structure that you could go in by parting some branches and leaves. You could see from the outside that it's glowing from the inside, so you instantly think candles. But it turns out to be fireflies. There's loads of them in there, some flying around, some hiding in the branches.

"Holy shit.." You gasp, going inside and sitting down. It wasn't big, but it wasn't small. You'd have to be quite short to stand up, so it was lucky that you and Levi are both short, you being a centimeter shorter.

"You like it?" He looks at you, sitting down and leaning against the trunk of the tree. He puts his arm around you, pulling you closer. You lean your head on his shoulder, nodding just beforehand.

"Sorry for being a bitch earlier, just.. Guess I didn't take being beaten by the likes of you too much?" You smirk, teasing him a little. He thumps your arm lightly, and kisses the top of your head.

"Looks like I'm gonna be dealing with this version of you for a while then?" He smirks, teasing you back.

"Hmph.."

"Anyways, I wanted to talk to you about your squad. You made it onto Squad Levi, the Special Operations Squad, as you know, so you'll be moving into our HQ. You'll also be training with us from now on, not with those other brats." You giggle lightly.

"Just because you're better than them, it doesn't make them brats." You hear a 'tch' sound as you bury your face in the crook of his neck, kissing it gently.

"You're lucky I'm here, you know I hate the dirt." You roll your eyes, removing yourself from his embrace and taking off your jacket, motioning for him to get up. He reluctantly gets up, and brushes off his ass, hoping the grass and dirt didn't stain his white trousers. You set down your jacket where he was sitting and sit back down, smiling when he mutters a thanks. You plant a quick kiss before you return to your former position, and start to doze off.

Levi's pov

I kiss the top of her head lightly as she falls asleep on my shoulder.

'Was I really this lucky? Did I really have her.. As my own?'

I couldn't believe it was real. Ever since I'd met her in the alley, something was different about her.. It was like looking in the mirror, ish.

"I love you, (f/n).." I whisper, holding her close to me.

'Don't take her away from me too.. Please. She's all I have left...' I sigh, leaning my head back against the trunk of the tree and closing my eyes, hoping that sleep would come and take me away.

Your pov

You wake up to the sound of the horses whinnying.

"Hm..." You mumble, opening your eyes slowly. You weren't in Levi's arms, but lying on the floor with your jacket under your head, and Levi's jacket covering you.

"Levi.. ?" You slowly get up, still tired. He comes back in parting the leaves and branches. And then. You see. Him.. SMILE!

"Someone's happy.." You tease, releasing a small smile yourself as you yawn.

"Someone's tired." He grins.

"You should smile more often, it suits you."

"Tch."

You giggle as Levi picks you up bridal style and sets you onto his horse.

"Eh?"

"Can't have you falling off your horse now, can we?" He smirks, climbing up and holding you close to his body, an arm snaking around your back keeping you from falling off. He holds the reigns in his other hand, and taps his horse lightly. You look over his shoulder to see your horse following obediantly. As you smile, you fall back to sleep with your face in Levi's chest.

You never wanted this to end. You didn't want to go back. But you knew you had to, you had to fulfill your duty to the Survey Corps. At least you'd get to meet your squad today, that was a plus. Lets just hope they were nice.
