I called for you a thousand times but you never came,
I waited for days, my beastly heart I tried to tame.
I didn't know what to do, I kept searching for that one trace of yours,
My heart seemed to cry for your presence, it was filled with remorse.
No, you didn't come at all,
You made me feel so unwanted and small.
And then I remembered what you had once told me,'no one in this world is your own'
It was then I realised you left me on the path you had shown,
And now to myself I've sworn,
That I'll follow what Tagore had said,"If you call and no one comes, you must walk alone''.

For those who are unaware, here I'm talking about Rabindranath Tagore, a very respected writer who has always been an inspiration to me.
