"So what's going on back at home?" I look over to my friend who also is leaning against the wall sitting on the air mattress.

"How should I know, we're both stuck here, not at home. I wish I knew though." She looks at her hands on her lap which don't stay still.

"I mean when you were still home, what happened?" I make my question more detailed for her.

"Oh, right. Well your mom called the police when you were still missing that morning, and they inspected the house and asked me where it might've happened. I told them you probably went on that trail, since your mom had informed me that you'd stormed off. The cops looked all over that trail, then, on the sidewalk by the road, they found a little bit of blood. They checked it and it was yours. Your parents were mad and freaked out, I was so upset and I don't know what happened after. I was walking home from the scene when I got taken. We are probably all over the news right now or something." She looks over at me.

"Oh." I look down, then get distracted. "So if I don't remember the past week, where did all the dishes go from that week?"

"Oh! I totally forgot, they come in and get them!" She looks worried.

"Alright, this is better actually, our plan will take action when they come to get the dishes. They're so stupid giving us glass." I smile.

Then someone comes clomping up the wooden stairs, we both freeze and grab our glasses, then we stand by the door, when I hear the squeak of the knob turning I smash my glass on the wall. Shards spray onto the ground and I'm left with a sharp, jagged rim on the cup.

The door opens after Taylor does the same and I hear a knife being pulled from it's sheath with a 'zing'. They must've heard the glass, we broke it too soon! Taylor is on the side where the door opens, we should've switched places, I was supposed to attack first!

"Taylor! Watch out!" I scream and dive for her, but I'm too late, I smack into Pat's back as I hear Taylor's agonized scream, which cuts through my heart like a blade. Tears come and anger rises, but my body aches, pain begins to rise with aggravation of running into Pat's body.

I squeeze the glass in my hand and with rage and terror, I stab Pat in the back, his yell is deep and it resonates. I jump back and he slashes at me, when he's off balance from swiping and missing his target, I kick his legs from under him while putting my hand on his back and shoving him to the ground with a loud 'thump'.

"Taylor! Are you okay!?" I ask with my heart beating fast as I kneel beside her, I see blood seeping over her shoulder and making a pool on the floor. Tears are a river down my face as I tear some cloth off of Pat's shirt with the assistance of my broken cup.

I hope she doesn't die, she can't! It was just a stupid dream! I won't let this happen! I quickly tie the cloth around her shoulder and she moans with pain.

"Taylor, stay with me! Please." I shout then whisper, her eyes open slightly and she looks at me, smiles, then goes unconscious, maybe forever.

The wound is incredibly deep and it already has the temporary wrap soaked and is leaking through. But I won't give up! I rip more cloth and wrap it again and again. But it doesn't work. There's absolutely no way all this can happen. This is too much, there's no way that she can die, I get tortured AND kidnapped! It just cannot be! It's too much!

"Never give up! Keep going! Escape, for me." Taylor smiles, then she seems to fade away as I scream when my heart throbs and bangs around in my chest with agony worse than any physical pain. I scream and cry out all of my rage and sorrow.

Then I turn, my  hand clenched so hard on the glass, it cracks.

"You, YOU KILLED HER!!!!!!" I scream and tear race down my cheeks, but the sorrow they carry makes them feels like knives and they leave a stinging mark.
