"Uh, follow me, I, guess." They grab their things and stumble outside, I follow them, grateful for their kindness.
I spot three cars, one for each employee, we jump into a red one with soft, fuzzy, seats, my heart is loud, and I think they might hear it, I get in the back and hide behind the passenger seat. The others sit wherever. The guy frantically starts his car, and we're off.
We whiz by the the van, and I see all of them are very enraged, we hear a screech.
"Uh oh." The boy looks in the mirror, looks like a car chase is about to begin." I start to panic.
"What?!" I ask.
"They right behind us, gaining on us actually."
"Then step on it, we can't let them catch her!"
"Oh, I'm really sorry, I shouldn't have dragged you into this." I apologize and the girl next to me looks at my face, making her long, blonde, pigtails swish.
"No problem, we could never have let then get you, I can't imagine what's happened to you, you're so skinny and dirty!" She smiles, and I smile too.
"Thank you so much, I can never thank you enough!" I say and I feel the are going faster and the driver looks like he's concentrating, we swerve around the road, trying to prevent them from passing us.
"Man, this will be an expensive ticket." He groans and the passenger snorts with laughter. Then freeze and my heart jumps when there's a bang, and the back window shatters.
"What the fuck!" The drive screams and we go even faster, but they shoot and start gaining, then aim for our tires.
"Almost there, keep going!"
"Where are we going?"
"The cops are waiting at a public garden for us." The girl explains.
"I'm going to do a sharp turn, hold on!" The car throws me into the door and I scream with pain as the girl falls on me too.
"Oh no, are you okay, I 'm so sorry!" She looks at me with concern.
"I'm fine, I'll live." I smile and clench my aching ribs, then there's another turn and my head hits the window, I clench my teeth and I go unconscious.
I wake up a few seconds later and the girl is leaning over me, tears in her eyes.
"Get out, we're here!" I jump out and hide with everyone behind some flowers to see cops ready to pop out everywhere around the garden.
