I took in the classroom, a dull, beige colored prison cell, where I had spent the last twenty minutes. This was Chemistry class, my least favorite lesson. It's not that Chemistry was particularly hard, just not interesting.

Turning to my left, I saw my best friend, Bailey, a tan, long haired brunette with chocolate brown eyes, on the row in front of me. She focused intently on the teacher, Mr Parker, only breaking her stare to furiously scribble down notes on whatever he was blabbering on about.

Note to self: I'll probably need to copy those down later.

Watching her listen so attentively made me cringe, I decided it was time I ended her suffering. Grabbing a pen off my table and ripping a page out of the back of my book, I inked a message to her.

you know, someone might figure out your little crush on mr parker if you keep looking at him like that

Looking up, I saw that Mr Parker was facing the board, his back to the classroom. I seized the opportunity and threw the scrunched up paper, hitting the back of Bailey's head. She turned around, immediately spotting the paper on the floor and picking it up.

After a few seconds, she spun on her chair, looking at me, and screwing up her face; She was clearly trying to hide her inflamed cheeks.

She wrote a response, turning back to throw me the paper. Just as she did, the bell went, signalling the end of the lesson. Thank God.

Hurriedly packing up my things, I jumped up and ran over to where Bailey was slowly putting her equipment in her bag. To speed her up, I took hold of a few of her belongings and threw them in the bag.

"Come on, let's go. I'm starving." I announced, pulling her toward the door.

As we approached the door, we were stopped by the one and only, Mr Parker.

"Excuse me, Sir, you're kind of in the way." I laughed, trying to manoeuvre around him.

He placed his hand out and stopped me. "I'm sorry, Miss Court, but I need to have a little chat with you. Go on, Bailey, she'll catch you up soon enough."

"I'll see you later." Bailey waved and walked off to go home.

"Sir, can this talk not wait until another time? I sort of have places to be." I asked, trying to avoid him.

"No, Maddison, this is important."
