I was in no hurry to leave my last lesson of Math. Slowly exiting the classroom, I made my way, equally as slow, down the hallway toward the front gate. I waited, looking to each side regularly, in search of the person I was waiting for: Marcus.
Getting bored, I reached for my phone in my pocket. Bailey had text me.
From Bailey:
have fun 'studying' today ;) xx
Smiling and shaking my head at her stupidity, I replied.
To Bailey:
i hate you but i'll try xx
As I pressed send, I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned to see who it was.
Before me stood a good looking boy around 5'6, taller than me at 5'4, with tan skin and piercing brown eyes, framed with large-rimmed black glasses that rested on his perfectly straight nose. His light brown hair, combed back, with a parting on the right side.
He opened his soft pink lips to speak. "Hi, you must be Maddison."
I recognized the voice from the phone. This was Marcus Bieber.
I continued to take in his appearance. A dark green, blue and black flannel shirt hung casually off his medium build frame, the ends falling over a pair of black skinny jeans.
"Yeah, hi. I'm Maddison. You're Marcus, right?"
"Last time I checked." He laughed, extending his hand.
I captured his hand in mine, shaking it. "Hi." I smiled.
"Nice to finally meet you." He replied, a smile plastering his face.
I watched as he absorbed my appearance, the smile still remaining on his face. His eyes moved from my hazel eyes, to my dark brown hair, which flowed down to just above my waist, then back to the tan skin of my face.
He continued to smile. "Have you got everything?"
"Yep." I nodded.
"We better get going then."
"Of course." I returned the friendly smile. "So, whereabouts do you live?" I asked to make conversation, as we walked toward the bus stop.
"On Glenn Street, you know, the one by the big forest?"
"No way! I live on the other side of that forest. I've never seen you about before."
"How strange."
The bus arrived, breaking our conversation. We both boarded, walking toward the back, where there were two seats available.
"Do you know her?" Marcus asked, confused, pointing to a waving Bailey.
"Oh yeah. That's Bailey, my best friend." I smiled, waving back.
"Ah. I see." He said, throwing his bag off his shoulder, to the floor.
