"There doesn't seem to be a problem," The doctor said, inspecting the wounds on my stomach. He was wearing, the traditional doctor attire. A white lab coat, a blue shirt, and black pants. His hair was a jet black, streaked with white.

"You're lucky, though. Any deeper and you probably would've died," He explained, standing up from his crouching position and pulling down my spotted gown.

I wouldn't consider myself lucky, doc.

"Thank goodness!" Wendy cried, jumping from her seat and hugging me tightly. I giggled, weakly, hugging her back.

"You're going to have to stay here for a couple days, just to make sure the infection didn't reach any vital organs,"

"O-Ok......" I mumbled, looking down at my hands. He flashed me a bright smile, before exiting the room.

"Levy...... I'm so sorry I broke our promise!! I know you trusted me, and I betrayed you! B-But...... I had to tell someone!"

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she spoke, tearing my heart.

"Shhhhhhh, don't worry about it, ok? I forgive you,"

I don't forgive myself for telling her. If I didn't, Gajeel and Wendy wouldn't be involved. I didn't want them to be.

"Ok, now that you're not cryin' who hurt you?" Gajeel asked, slightly pushing Wendy to the side. I gulped, fiddling with my slender fingers.

"I can't tell you........" I whispered, looking off to the side.

"Why the hell not?!"

Because she will kill me.

(Flashback)

She was hitting me with the bat again. I wasn't able to clean the kitchen in time. As tears poured out of my eyes, I kept on getting hit over and over again by the bat -- now, spotted with blood. She was yelling something, probably something about how much of a piece of trash I am.

But I didn't really listen. All I felt, was the constant hitting in different places. The bat, being swung harder and harder each time it came down on me. My past bruises, being hit, with no mercy.

Was I really expecting mercy? When had she ever showed mercy? Never. And she never would. But I couldn't help but wonder -- when would she stop? Enough was enough, right?

"Filthy rat," She spat, kicking me one last time, before going back into the house. I coughed, a liquid coming out of my mouth. Probably blood. I slowly opened my eyes, my vision, slightly blurry.

I normally just laid there, when she left me outside for the night. But this time, was different. I felt a little stronger than before. I groaned, sitting up. My head pounded, earning a yelp from me. I placed my bloody hands on the ground, slowly getting up.

I swayed, before recovering and starting to walk. I wobbled, trying to steady myself, nearly falling a couple times. With my shaky fingers, I undid the small lock that kept the white, fenced area shut.

I pushed the creaky door open, almost falling over when it opened all the way. I stumbled out, groaning in pain. I looked around, seeing the vacant streets made my heart drop. I needed to keep trying.

I wobbled to the building across the street, leaning on it for support once I got there. I smiled slightly when I saw a man, cross the street.

"S-S-Sir!" I called, leaning on the old building and walking towards him. He looked at me, gasping.

"Miss!! What happened to you?" He asked, frantically. He started to make his way over to me, while I inched closer to him.

"Help,"

I could barely get the word out before I felt someone grab my wrist.

"Oh, Levy! There you are! I was so worried!!" She cried, looking over at me with false tears. My mother.

"This is your daughter?" The man asked, eyeing me.

"Yes! Thank you so much for coming to help her! Ta, ta!" She whistled, smiling and turning around with me.

"You foolish girl!!" My mother screamed once we were in the house. She picked up an empty booze bottle, smashing it into my chest. The air was knocked out of me, as I fell backward, hitting the cold, tile floor.

"He could've gotten the police!" She screamed, putting her foot on my chest, making the shards of glass go in deeper. I cried out, biting my lip.

"If you ever try to escape, or utter a word to anyone about this, you're dead."

(Flashback End)

"Ya need to tell me dammit!!" He roared, slamming his fist on the table beside my bed. I shivered at the sound, remembering when my mother slammed the baseball bat on my body.

"I'm s-s-sorry! But I can't!!" I cried, gripping my -- now aching -- chest. I took in a sharp breath, as it got harder and harder to breathe.

"It hurts!!" I screamed, clutching my chest.

"Levy!! Doctor! Doctor!!" Wendy called, running outside to the hallway. My breaths became weaker and fainter, with each one that came.

"What's going on?" The doctor asked, entering the room with a scared Wendy.

"We don't know! I think she's having a hard time breathing!" Wendy explained, tugging at the doctor's sleeve.

"Let me see," He informed, pressing a cold metal against my back. He mumbled something even I couldn't hear, before removing the metal and standing up.

"Get the mask, she needs it," He ordered the nurse waiting in the hallway. She nodded, before sprinting off somewhere.

"What's the Shrimp need?" Gajeel asked, his crimson eyes landing on me. I was barely breathing, my eyelids half closed already.

"She needs a mask to help her breath, something is creating some sort of blockage." He explained when the nurse stepped in and handed him something.

"Is she going to be ok?" Wendy asked, grabbing my cold hand and filling it with warmth.

"If we can get this blockage out,"

I felt something cover my mouth and nose, just as I drifted off to sleep.
