"When we turn 16 we should get married!" tyler exclaimed to his best friend with curly brown locks.

"Okay tyty!" josh said and held out his hand.

tyler took it.

to a four year old 16, was a long time away.

after a long 12 years josh and tyler were closer then ever.

they've been best friends since forever and tyler was having a little crush on him.

everyday would go by and he'd think about the pact they made.

josh had a few girlfriends when tyler stayed single just so when he turned 16 they could get 'married'.

looking back at it now it seemed stupid, but tyler began to think if josh forgot about it.

tyler was walking home, he was gonna be 16 soon, he looked up at the red and orange leaves. winter is coming.

tyler let out a long sigh and knocked on josh's door when he got to his house.

josh opened the door. "Hey tyty!" he said.

tyler smiled. he liked it when josh called him that.

josh let him in and tyler took off his jacket and scarf, for it had been windy.

"Wanna play mario kart?" josh asked looking at tyler.

tyler nodded and ran upstairs to josh's room.

"Hey tyler? my parents were wondering if you wanted to come with us on the 1st to go camping."

"Of December?" asked tyler.

"yeah" josh said getting the game loaded.

"i can't on that day." tyler held back tears, had josh really forgotten about the deal, or his birthday.

"Why not??" josh asked looking back confused.

"It's my birthday" tyler mumbled.

"Oh my god! i forgot!" josh said and facepalmed.

"It's okay, josh it happens" tyler said and didn't even dare to bring up the pact.

josh sat down next to tyler. "No it's not okay, i'm really really sorry" he said and sighed.

tyler shrugged. "It really is okay" he said and held back tears. "We gonna play or what?" he asked grabbing his controller and starting a game.

he knew josh would forget. but that was a long time ago.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUU!!" tylers family exclaimed as they walked into his room with a cupcake.

tyler groaned and looked up. "Thanks guys" he said with a little smile.

tyler checked his phone and he had little notifications, as always.

it was a friday and josh was supposed to up camping. he left last night.

tyler sighed and took the cupcake as he thanked his family one more time and they left.

tyler got ready for school and took a bite out of his pastry and shook his head. he wasn't hungry.

his stomach growled.

okay maybe he was hungry but he didn't want to eat.

honestly he was upset. josh was gone and he didn't even text him a happy birthday and he forgot.

the some people at school said happy birthday to tyler.

he smiled and thanked them. at lunch he hung out with melanie who got tyler a hot topic gift card and said that she couldn't go to his party tonight.

"oh. um okay" tyler said on the verge of tears.

tyler didn't even want his party anymore.

when tyler trudged home, his feet dragging he opened up the door and sighed. he went up to his room and got changed into different clothes.

knock knock knock

"Tyler? mom wants you to come down stairs" Maddie said softly as she slowly opened the door.

"okay i'll be down in a minute."

once he was ready he went downstairs and looked around confused.

"Mom??" he asked as he went to the backyard and a whole bunch of lights and people in party hats yelled "surprise!"

tyler jumped back scared and smiled lightly.

"Thanks you guys" he said and hugged his mom. "but i kinda don't want a party. josh isn't here and it just doesn't feel the same"

and on cue the crowd separated into two, parting like the red sea.

and tyler looked to see josh in a tux with Jay standing with a bible.

a smiling maddie put a flower in tylers hair and gently nudged him to josh.

tyler smiled widely and walked to josh.

"what's this?" he asked to his best friend.

"We made a promise to marry each other. you don't really think i forgot your birthday and especially our marriage pact now wouldya?" josh said and smiled, his eyes crinkling and his tongue poking out.

tyler smiled. "Well yeah kinda"

"Come on! i want cake!" zach said as he stood behind tyler.

"Dearly beloved. we are gathered here today to celebrate the birth of tyler joseph and the marriage pact of joshua dun and tyler. do you joshua dun take tyler to have and to hold through sickness and in health, richer or poorer as long as you both shall live?" jay said to josh.

"I do" josh said and laughed lightly.

"And the birthday boy, do you tyler joseph take josh to have and to hold, sickness and through health, richer or poorer as long as you both shall live?"

"i do"

"the rings please" jay said and melanie giggled as she brought the rings and gave them to jay.

he took them and handed it out to josh and tyler as he put it on.

"I love you best friend" josh said as he hugged tyler and tyler smiled. he was just happy josh was here.

"You know i'm not certified so this isn't real yet?" jay said.

tyler rolled his eyes. "I don't care this turned out to be the best birthday ever"

they all had birthday cake and josh and tyler fed each other and melanie was taking pictures.
