I  had THE BEST sleep ever last night. Maybe it was from the adrenaline filled chase we had with the cop last night! Or was it from all the chocolate I ate on the car ride from Target to the hotel? Hmm… perhaps my wonderful slumber had to do with the fact that I had Sleeping Beauty wrapped in my arms… yep, that’s got to be it.

I didn’t want to get out of bed as I studied my little Mac-Attack in my arms.

Whoa get a hold of yourself man! She’s not yours! She’ll never be! Especially with that nasty little secret your keeping from her!

But that doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun…

“Wakey Wakey Kenzie,” I cooed into her ear. “Rise and shine…”

“mmm-eerrr-gahhhhh-bleeehhhh,” she mumbled, burying her face in my chest. How cute is she?

“Mac… we have to get going,” I whispered into her ear causing her to shiver.

“Blehhh-mmmm-ahhhh-gahhh” She mumbled once again. Great!

“Mac” I commanded, this time stricter. “We need to go.”

And that’s when I felt it; cold liquid seeping through the front of my shirt.

“WTF?” I yelled pulling away; trying to figure out the source of the liquid while McKenzie rolled away and continued snoozing.

I pulled the front of my shirt to my nose and took a whiff, YUCK! It smelled like crap! Well not exactly, more like… *sniff sniff* chocolate???

As I grimaced, McKenzie started to giggle. “What is it?” I snapped annoyed.

“T-t-that’s m-m-my d-d-d-drooooool!!!!” she squealed bursting into another set of giggles.

Ohhhhh so THAT’S why it smelled like chocolate…

“Whatever, get dressed, we’re leaving,” I muttered. I really had to change my shirt... what can I say, I’m a neat freak!

I watch her storm into the bathroom in her adorable; you guessed it, plaid Abercrombie pajamas while slamming the door.

“Ahhhgggg,” I groaned stretching my back and flexing my shoulders; she clung onto me like a koala last night!

After I changed into some fresh clothes, I noticed the magazine I stole last night lying face down on her suitcase. Glancing once around the room, I decided the coast was clear to snoop.

Some parts on the back of the magazine were slightly wrinkled suspiciously in a shape similar to a circle. Did she spill water on this? No, the whole magazine would’ve been trashed if she did… no she had cried; THAT’S what happened.

A pang of guilt flashed through my conscience; she was probably crying over the article filled with interviews from her loved ones…

Swiftly, I turned the magazine over to its cover to find a smiling McKenzie with some boy probably around our age both wearing their high school’s Letterman jacket.

His arm was casually slung around her shoulders while hers was tightly wrapped around his waist; both were holding a slice of cake. I couldn’t help but notice how her face lit up as she smiled radiantly, half at the camera, half at the boy.

And as I studied the picture more carefully, I couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous. I envied the way she smiled at him, how happy she seemed in his arms and the proud look in her eyes. He must be her boyfriend…
