I was rummaging through my bag as I was looking for the right thing to wear. I settled on some black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt with no sleeves and some flats. I let my hair fall down to my back as I threw on some deodorant and brush my teeth again. I was in the middle of combing my hair when I heard the door open. "What are you getting dolled up for." Heather grumbled as she marched to her bed, I just glared at her as I finished my hair.
"Um, hello! I asked you a question!" Heather spat as I walked away. I slowly turned my head and shot daggers at her. "It's none of your business." I growled as I walked out, ignoring her middle finger pointed at me. I walked to the docks and sat at the end of them, the starry sky looked so beautiful here in Muskoka. The way they shined in the dark blue night sky was just, incredible. I was continuing my star gazing when someone covered my eyes. "I already told you Heather! It's none of your freaking business!" I spat at the hands. I heard a chuckle and someone imitating Heather.
"Tsk. Whatever. I'm going back to the cabin to fix my sexy looking hair for tv." I began to chuckle as Noah took his hands off my eyes. I turned to see he didn't have on his vest or button up blue shirt, he just wore his mid length white shirt and his khakis with tennis shoes. He sat down next to me and looked up at the stars like what we did a few days ago. Many thoughts ran through my head as I gazed at the beautiful night sky, but I just felt like someone was watching me. I looked out of the corner of my eye to see brown eyes meeting mine. It felt like I was in some sort of cliché romance movie where it was love at first sight, but to be honest. It was for me. When he first spoke to me the day he arrived I felt butterflies in my stomach. While it wasn't the most romantic way to meet someone. He still seemed like a nice person once you get to truly know him.
I couldn't stop thinking about what he said the rest of the day, I decided to break the silence and talk to him. "How's life?" I know, it's not the coolest thing to say, but I had to start somewhere. Plus, it's good to try and get to know your competition. He looked over at me with a weird look while I gave him a small smile.
He chuckled at the joke and answered. "Decent, could possibly die early cause of this show. But hey, maybe my mom was right. I could meet a few interesting people here. There are some, how should I put it.... Interesting people on this island"
I couldn't help but laugh at his response and smiled. "Why did you join this hell hole of a show?" Noah asked.
I stopped and looked at him, he had his full attention on me as I began to speak. "I signed up so I can win the money for my family. My parents got divorce when I was little, and my grandfather has been doing awful. School is stressful and I would love to help my mom and dad get through the tough times. It may sound stupid, but I just want to do the best I can for them." I spoke looking away embarrassed. "I would kill to have this kind of money to help support my family and maybe use some of it to travel as soon as possible." I told him some more. Noah just nodded his head and looked back at the sky for a bit. "Traveling does sound pretty cool. See the world and try some new things. Any place in mind?"
I thought about it for a bit before smiling again. "Obviously Japan. Maybe go to Italy too or Hawaii! Go somewhere nice and cool too. What about you? What's your dream vacation?"
"Either Mexico or London. It sounds weird but I think it would be a nice vacation spot. Sunny Mexico and then chill and laidback London." Noah explained. I smiled at the thought and looked back up to the stars. The silence was a bit creepy and made me a bit uncomfortable. I slowly stood up and stretched my muscles before turning back towards the camp site. "I'll be right back." I called while jogging to my cabin
Time skip brought to you by doughnuts
I came running as fast as I can with my guitar and sat back down. "What are you doing?"
"I don't like the silence, so I'm just strumming along." I giggled as I strummed into the night. Noah began to hum and tap his fingers to the beat as I kept going. "You know this song?" I chuckled as I picked up the songs pace. "Krewella, right?""Yeah! I love Krewella!"
"There okay."
"AH! You take that back mister!"
"Make me."
I put my guitar down and tackled him trying to find his tickle spot. I gave up trying after about a couple of minutes before he tackled me and started poking me. "S-stop!! That T-tickles!" I cried. After about an hour of torture. He finally stopped. We began to laugh hard as we sat up and smiled. We stopped laughing and just looked at the sky.
"Noah."
"Hm."
"How long do you think you'll last on this show?"
"Dunno. How about you."
"Don't know either. I hope awhile."
"Sixth or Seventh is fine by me."
I laughed at his statement while he let out a soft chuckle. I looked at my phone and checked what time it is.
12:30
Wow, time went by fast. "It's 12:30. We should probably go back." I said as I stood up and grabbed my belongings. We began to head back towards the gopher cabins before Noah stopped in his tracks. "How come you're never this open to the others? You talk to me about almost everything." He asked me. I stood still for a minute in thought before looking over my shoulder with a soft smile.
"That's different, you actually hang out with me." I laughed giving him a thumbs up. Things became awkward as we stood at the front of the Gopher cabins "See ya later I guess." He spoke. As he walked away, I sighed as I walked back to the cabins, fell on my bed and fell asleep. I think that this camp might not be so bad after all.
Sorry I haven't updated for a while. School as been very stressful and time consuming. I will try to update as much as possible. Love you all 😘
