Another night of rough slumber. I let out a pained groan as I sat up from my bunk. I rubbed my eyes and slowly got out of bed and dressed for today. Yesterday was rough to say the least. Courtney told me that Katie was eliminated at the bonfire last night after I asked her about what happened. I'm glad she's beginning to open up to me, even though we were on different teams. She didn't seem like a bad person, she's just competitive. Who could blame her? We all wanted to win at the end of the day.

I walked outside fully dressed with a large smile on my face. We finally won a challenge after three straight eliminations! Hopefully Heather will lay off us for a little bit. But I knew that would be too good to be true. While on my way to the mess hall, I heard the loudspeaker go off, making me jump out of my skin.

"Listen up you little cockroaches!" Chef's voiced boom into the speaker. "I want all campers to report to the dock of shame at O 900 hours." We all looked at each other with confused glances. Owen even shrugged his shoulders at us. "That means now soldiers! NOW!" Chef boomed again making us all sprint over to the dock. Both teams made it in superior time and stood in one single line waiting for instructions. It honestly felt like a bootcamp.

Chef was dressed like a military sergeant which confirmed my thoughts. "Line and stand in attention!" Chef ordered. I stood straight with my feet firmly planted on the ground. Something was telling me not to get on Chef's bad side today. "You call this proper formation! Feet together, arms down, eyes forward, head up!" Chef barked while correcting a few of the people who had poor postures.

"Oh, this is gonna be a fun day." Gwen joked. Me, Trent and Noah all nodded in agreement which didn't sit well with Chef. "What did you say to me solider?" Chef asked while giving Gwen and intimidating look. Gwen looked surprised for a bit before finally answering. "Um, nothing."

"And you will continue to say nothing, till I tell you that you can say something." Chef barked back at her, leaving us all stunned. What was happening? Why is Chef acting like this all of a sudden? I am not enjoying this challenge whatsoever today.

"Today's challenge will not be an easy one. In fact, I do not expect everyone to come out alive." Chef told us while walking towards the end of the dock. Owen laughed a little which resulted in Chef whacking him on the back. "Ow! That hurt!" Owen cried in pain. Chef ignored him and continued with the explanation for today. "My orders are to make sure that all the babies in front of me drop out of my bootcamp except for one. The last one standing wins immunity for their team."

"Uh, what happened to Chris?" Heather asked under her breath. Now that I think of it, Chris was nowhere to be found which made me wonder where exactly he was. And if was coming back soon. "Rule number one. You will address me as Master Chief." Chef began, completely ignoring Heather's question. "Have you got that?"

"Yes, Master Chief." We all responded in unison which sounded really creepy. "You will sleep, when I tell you to sleep. And you will eat, only when I tell you to eat. Is that clear?" Chef barked again. "Yes, Master Chief." We responded back. I knew deep down that this was not gonna be an easy day for my muscles, that's for sure.

"Rule number two, when you are ready to give up you will walk to the end of the dock and ring the bell. Which brings me to rule number three, I'd like to get one quitter by the end of the day. That day will not end until someone drops out! Now get your butts down to the beach soldiers! NOW!" Chef boomed. We all began to sprint off the docks and head towards the beach where our canoes were laying down.

"Why are the canoes here? Are we going out on the water again?" I asked in a whisper, hoping that Chef didn't hear me speak. I got an answer all right, a dark and scary answer. "Did I tell you to speak maggot?!" Chef yelled to me with the megaphone close to my face. My hair went flying and my eyes went wide. "No Master Chief!" Was all I could say without getting in more trouble.
