Jason's POV

I felt like I was going crazy without Taylor by my side. I kept lashing out at every one if they didn't show up with the answers I wanted. No one had found a lead on Taylor. There was nothing. It had been a month of nothing. I had all my resources searching for any signs of her and there was absolutely nothing.

I slammed my fists on the table. "Calm down Jason." I heard Mr. Stepic grumble. "I'm sorry Sir. We just aren't getting any closer to finding Taylor and it's messing with my head." Taylor's father rolled his eyes and took a deep breath.

"You need to relax. You're pushing away everyone who's trying to help you. Your friends are worried about you and all you do is yell at them." Everything he was saying is true. I had been a bad friend. Taylor is the only thing I could think about. For some reason it felt like the tie between us had been getting weaker with each day. I'm terrified that I won't be able to feel her one morning. Of course, it's all in my head, but still. I can't stand being away from her. I felt Alpha Stepic's hand on my back. "Go take the rest of the day off and relax. I got this." I wanted to argue but he gave me a look. "That's an order Jason."

That's an order Jason. Gabe mimicked. Order my ass. We need to find Taylor, not relax. He does have a point Gabe. It won't help if our head isn't fully in the game. I nodded and left the meeting room. I took a deep breath and made my way down to the basketball court. When I got there a game was already being played. Everyone stopped playing when they felt my presence.

"Well if it isn't the grumpiest alpha on the block. Come out of your hole to play some ball?" Chase said throwing me the basketball. I smiled and dribbled it between my legs a couple of times. "Taylor's dad convinced me that I needed some time off."

I heard a scoff from Jess. "You think? You're running yourself into the ground looking for T. When was the last time you had a decent meal?" I opened my mouth but came up with nothing. Jess gave me a disappointed look. "You have to take care of yourself Jason. You would know if Taylor was in danger anyway. You're her mate. If she's in trouble you'd know."

Chase, Justin, and Francis nodded their heads in agreement. They didn't know about the fading link between me and Taylor, or what I thought was weakening link. "Yeah, I guess you're rig- AH!"

I clutched my heart as a shock racked through my body. One knee collapsed to the ground as I fell to the ground. Everyone rushed to me immediately. "Jason are you okay?" I heard Jess ask frantically. "Get the doctor!" Chase quickly said to Francis.

I took one knee and let the shocks pass. "Jason." Jess touched my shoulder. As soon as the shocks died down I let out the air in my lungs that I'd been holding. "I'm fine." I got up and wiped the dirt off my knee. "What the hell was that?!"Chase asked.

I had no idea what just happened. I'd never felt something like that in my life. Something happened to Taylor. Gabe warned. I don't know what's happening but it's Taylor.

"It's Taylor. She's in trouble." I choked out. It felt like the connection between us was slowly thinning. As if the rope between us was ready to snap. I heard the frantic footsteps of the doctor and Francis as they approached. "Jason are you okay?" Doc said worriedly. I couldn't show weakness, not now. "Nothing, I think it's just the stress I've been putting on myself." I felt someone slap me upside the head.

"Shut up Jason, you know it was more than that." Jess stood in front of me with a frown on her face. "There's something that you're not telling us and I know it. You can trust us Jason. We're all here for you." I took a deep breath and sat down on the court.

"I think someone is trying to break the connection between me and Taylor." I kept my eyes trained on the ground as tears welled up in my eyes. "That's not possible." Doc squatted down next to me. "If you feel like the connection between you and Taylor is being lost, it could mean that she is dying.

I felt a fire well up inside me as Gabe took control. He grabbed Doc by the throat and slammed him against a tree. "Don't you dare say that my mate is dying." he growled in a deep voice. "Jason! What the hell?" Chase said prying me off Doc.

"It wasn't me, it was Gabe." I put my hands up in defense. Doc rubbed his throat and looked at me in fear. "You better get yourself together Jason.  Controlling your wolf should never be a problem for an alpha, never."

Doc was right. I looked at my hands in disgust. I'm sorry Jason. I just lost it when I heard the possibility of losing Taylor. I shook my head and started walking away from the court. "I'm sorry." I muttered as I headed to my room for a shower.

I passed the meeting room and heard Mr. Stepic on the phone. "No, you can't tell me that the vampires have her. Well, I can't tell Jason that now can I?" He paced back and forth. "Yes, I know that she's with her sorry excuse of a brother. He wouldn't hurt her. He's just going to use her to his own advantage now that her other half has been awakened." He banged his hand on the desk causing it to splinter.

"You have to be kidding me. You don't even know where they're located? Well torture, kill. Do what you have to in order to get answers. I don't care. Now she's more dangerous than any being on this planet. I need her on my side, do you understand?!" Mr. Stepic slammed the end call button and threw the phone against the wall. "Unbelievable!"

I quickly ran to my room and sat on my bed. What the hell did I just hear?
