I walk via the door with Maddy's hand in mine and Darcy following behind me. I throw the keys and my purse to the side, shutting the door.

Letting go of Maddy's hand, I let her walk off and step aside to let Darcy do as she pleases.

Maddy goes straight to the living room and Darcy continues to stand by me.

"Darcy?" I ask. "What's wrong?"

She looks to me before shaking her head. "Nothing. I have homework, so I'm going to go upstairs to my room and start on it."

I furrow my eyebrows as she takes a few steps I'm front of me.

"Okay." I slightly smile. "Let me know if you need help, then."

She nods, continuing to walk upstairs. I watch her walk the rest of the way before she disappears at the top.

Walking to the living room, I practically forgot that Harry was here. I find him standing in the kitchen, helping himself to a bowl of cereal.

Wow. A bowl of cereal at nearly 4pm.

Haha.

Well, I did say to help himself to whatever's in the house. Food wise, at least.

"I don't think Darcy is feeling well." I say, standing in the entry way.

He furrows his eyebrows, taking another bite of cereal.

"Why so?" He asks, setting the bowl in the counter.

"She seems quiet, but oh, well. She wanted to go and do homework, so why stop her?" I try to shrug it off, hopping it isn't nothing serious.

"Yeah. Do you want me to come later or something, or..?" He suggests and I shrug my shoulders, unsure.

"I don't know. I'll go talk to her and see if she will come down." I suggest, starting to make my way out.

"I can come back a separate time, it's perfectly fine. If she's not feeling well, then-"

"I'll come back down and let you know, alright?" I say and he nods, grabbing his bowl of cereal again. "Maddy's in the living room, so try not to be spotted by her, okay?"

He nods before I turn on my heels, making my way up the stairs and to Darcys bedroom.

I make my way to her bedroom door and stop outside, listening.

Soft sniffles come from inside. Well..

It's more like sobbing. But, she's trying to keep them quiet, like she has her face stuffed into a pillow or a blanket..

Why is she crying? What happened?

I twist the door knob and open the door, stepping in. She immediately tries to go quiet but doesn't succeed at all.

"Baby, what's wrong?" I ask, walking to her bedside and sitting on her bed.

"It's nothing. I don't want to talk about it." She sniffles.

"What's bothering you? I'm always here to talk, you know?" I offer and she nods. "Did something happen at school today?"

She shakes her head. "No."

I pull my feet up and lay down beside her, pulling her into my arms.

"Please tell me. I want to help, sweetie. If it's something bad, I promise not to get mad, I-"

"It's nothing bad. It just.." She trails off. "I keep seeing dad everywhere and whenever I go over to friends houses, they always boast about how great their dad is.. And today at school, we were doing a paper on who our role model was. And most people said that their mom was or even dad.. But.." She burst into tears, which makes my heart break. "Then I saw you and dad the other day on a magazine cover, and I didn't know if you guys were getting back together or not. And mom!" She clutches onto my clothes and I hug her as tight as I could, feeling so bad..

"And mom, I miss dad and I just miss him so much!" She cries, burying her head into my shoulder. "And this sucks because it's been 5 years and Maddy doesn't even know him and that makes it even more less likely that I'll ever be able to see him again, and I just.. I just.."

"Shh.." I tried to soothe her, stroking her hair. "It's Okay, Darcy. You should feel free to open up to me like this and I'm sorry.. Yes, me and your dad have been talking for the past few days and all, but we are still trying to figure everything out and all.."

"Is he on tour?" She asks and I nod.

"If you really miss him, then I have a surprise for you." I say and she smiles slightly, trying to seem happy.

"Okay."

"But you have to close your eyes." I say and she immediately does.

I guide her down the steps and to the kitchen, to where Harry is. Seeing him, still standing in the kitchen, I motion for him to be quiet with my finger.

"Open." I say and I can't see her face, but I know she has opened them because she goes still.

It's like she stopped breathing..

Harry looks to me before looking back to her and giving her a smile.

I hear her start to cry and full on sprint towards him, wrapping her arms around his neck.

He picks her up, hugging her as she sobs into his shoulder.

Was this the right thing to do?

This was definitely not the reaction I was expecting first handedly.. At all.

Maddy, I feel like, will be a lot more complicated..
