-LOLA'S P.O.V.-

I texted mom to tell her about our neighbors wanting us to go to theirs for dinner and threw my phone down on the end of my bed. I quickly walked over to the window to close my curtains while I get changed.

Running my hands over the scabbing cuts on my wrists while looking at the clothes I had laid out on my bed, i debated on what to wear for the day. After about ten minutes of careful thinking I finally decided on a pair of ripped high waisted denim shorts with a flowy white top and my Adidas all stars. I skipped down the two flights of stairs i had to go down and stepped out into the warm September air and smiled before walking down my street towards the busy main street.

Walking down the street i was looking at the three children playing on a swing set in the park i was passing when i heard a bing coming from my back pocket. Looking down at my phone i saw a new text from "G"

G?: hey princess

My eyes started to water and it suddenly got hard to breath. I collapsed onto a park bench just as a flashback started playing in my mind.

I could still hear the muffled bass of the party downstairs as my back collided with the hard mattress of his bed, his hand covering my mouth to muffle my screams.

"Don't worry princess, you won't feel a thing."

I tried to scream but when nothing came out i bit down on his hand as hard as i could, the rusty taste of blood filling my mouth. He jumped off me slapping me across the face with his hand that wasn't bleeding.

"You fucking bitch!!" He screamed at me slapping me once again.

My cheek had gone numb from where he had slapped me and i lay there with wide eyes as he took off my dress.

"You fucking deserve this you ugly bitch"

I shook my head of the flashback and a sudden anger pulsed through me.

Me: Do. Not. Call. Me. Princess. Don't call me anything other than Lola, in fact why are you even texting me?

G?: hey hey hey calm down i was just saying hi

Me: Well then don't.

G?: okay fine i was just bored

I didn't bother replying and slipped my phone back into my back pocket and stood up rubbing my eyes free of tears. I took a deep breath and started walking in the direction that i was going in, i must've zoned out for a while because the next thing i knew i was on the ground laying beside a black iPhone that i didn't recognize. I sat up and saw a boy on the ground next to a purple long board with his arm draped over his face and groaning in pain. My eyes widened and i scrambled to my feet and ran over to him. This is your fault, someone is hurt because of you.

"Oh my god i'm so sorry, i wasn't watching whe..." I stopped mid sentence as he moved his arm and i could see his face.  He looked exactly like the boy from the window, but there were some obvious differences, the first one being that he didn't have the blue strand of hair in the front, instead there stood strands of golden blonde. His jaw wasn't as chiseled, it was slightly more round. He looked at me and sat up and squinted as his eyes hit direct sunlight.

"No it's okay, i probably shouldn't be riding my long board and be texting at the same time." he said while chuckling slightly. I smiled and looked over towards the phone laying on the ground over where i was. I stood up and walked over to it, turning it over to inspect the damage done to the screen, i sucked in a breath and winced as the shattered screen came into view. I walked over to him handing him the phone.

"I'm sorry about your phone, i can give you some money to you to repair it if you want." I said as i reached for the money i had in my pocket. He placed his hand over mine, stopping me from getting any, his hand was surprisingly warm and rough.

"No honestly it's fine you don't need to pay for my mistakes." I looked up at him and we sat there for a few seconds before saying something.

"I'm Grayson by the way."

"Lola."

"Did you just move here?"

"yeah i did how did you know?"

"I've never seen you around here before." By now we had started walking along the footpath with Grayson swinging his long board back and forth beside him. We were walking along in comfortable silence when he broke the silence.

"I was actually heading to starbucks  and since you just moved here why don't you come so i can show you around?" don't do it he's using you. I pushed the thought aside and nodded my head slowly and a smile grew on his face causing me to smile too.

"Shall we?" He said in a terrible british accent, i laughed loudly and pushed him along the footpath.
