Chapter 15: Red & Blue

"___NO KARMA!!!! How come you're giving up so easily like this!? I don't remember I have a timid little brother!! If you won't do it, I'll do it myself!! I'll do anything to defend at least this HQ!!!" Karma's brother stepped out of the room.

Karma was standing near the big window in that office-looked room, staring down the out side view with a light sigh.

"It's no use, nii-san.... No matter what you do, you will only repeat the same mistake...." He closed his eyes briefly, "you know that the Red Capital is the only remain..... If they can enter means that it's the end...."

Suddenly, there was a big explosion in one of the side of the building with a tremor at the same time which made Karma staggered a little. There's something hitting his feet soon after the tremor; it's a gun and he took it with no doubt.

"I was thinking and wondering about the girl in the sea of flame...... I didn't know why but I couldn't fight back..... I saw an emptiness on her eyes and I was stung by her smooth quick move that paralized me.... My eyes couldn't even catch her and when I realized it, she's already behind me with a knife stabbed on my back..... I thought that it was a girl, but I was wrong..... Right, Nagisa-kun?"

Karma turned his sight to Nagisa who was standing, grabbing on the wall near him and trying to balance himself. He held a dagger in his hand tight and looking at Karma with flat expression.

"I know from the start that you're the one who stabbed me, Nagisa-kun.... and of course I know that you're one of the Blue survivors....." Karma aimed the gun in his hand at Nagisa.

"Karma-kun..... then...... Why didn't you kill me at that time? Why did you save me?"

"I've tried it all this time, but some how I can't.... I tried to kill you every night that even made me awake for the entire night, but like there's something inside me that stopped me...... in the end..... I could only watch you sleeping......and that time.... When I saw you're attacked, I really wanted to see that gorilla ripped your arms and legs, but my body moved automatically and killed him instead of you......" He paused for a second, "I......... Didn't expect for this......" Karma sighed in frustration, "but...... We don't have any other choice....." He looked at Nagisa heavily, "one of us shall die today......"

Nagisa didn't give any respond. He's just standing there, grabbing his dagger tight in his hand. He stared at Karma sharply like didn't care about the gun which was aimed on him and could kill him anytime. The tense atmosphere around them was getting stronger; they even ignored the broken glass of the windows around them due to the second tremor of an explosion. They didn't have much time until the building collapsed.

"Say, Nagisa-kun..... Don't you know how much it hurts me when I can't kill you?" Karma said dejectedly, "to see you killed my parents in front of my eyes in that heat......and...... To be stabbed by the same culprit..... Don't you know how does it feel to keep and to endure the hatred in my heart all this time?"

"I...........did...........that?" Nagisa startled, "I can feel the sense in my hands about stabbing someone in the flame, but.... I can't remember about killing some people....." He looked at his hands.

"He doesn't even remember that he, by his own hands, killed his own parents....." Nagisa's sister suddenly came and joined the conversation. "His memory hasn't fully recovered....." She aimed her gun at Nagisa, "before you snap out, I have to finish you off first, Nagi....."
