Ladybug was left there stunned, she didn't know what to think or how to feel. She knew this would be tough but she never expected him to react in that way. She didn't even get to explain why. She wanted to confess to him about how she loved Adrien, how she didn't want to string him along and how she really felt about him but it was too late. He had vaulted away with a torn heart and it was all her fault.
'Marinette, it's oka-'
"It's not okay, Tikki," she replied, cutting her kwami off, "if I could just explain to him, if he listened to me, then maybe things would be different."
Ladybug held her head in her hands. She knew this was her fault and it hurt so much to see him in pain. She should've never kissed him, she should've thought about her actions before she kissed that fucking cat. But she didn't. And now her closest friend, her kitty, was going to hate her forever. The weight of her thoughts caused her to collapse in a puddle of her own tears, the consolation whispered in her ears by Tikki didn't help. Nothing could help her, there was a lump in her throat and a twist in her stomach and the only thing that could help her was Chat Noir. He always saved her, no matter what. And now he was gone and she missed him so dearly. She was in agony at the thought of losing Chat Noir, she was nothing without him.
A loud blast was heard. And then another. Ladybug shot up quickly and looked around.
"BUGABOO! WHERE ARE YOU?" She heard a twisted version of Chat scream out, maybe she spoke too soon about wanting him back.
Ladybug hurriedly wiped away her tears and diminished her emotions as she prepared for a fight. She yo-yoed her way quickly to where the uproar was emitting from. She leapt and bounded her way across the city to find her kitty at the Pont des Arts Bridge, their meeting point. She sat hidden on a roof and she observed him as he began destroying everything in his wake, ripping off lockets attached with love and collapsing buildings that surrounded The Seine. He had a wicked smile plastered on his face as he caused even more corruption and destruction and it seemed he wouldn't stop until Ladybug showed herself.
"MY LADY, WHERE ARE YOU? COME OUT, COME OUT!" He yelled once again, grinning vilely as he scanned his surroundings for the black and red dotted heroine.
He didn't look at all different to her, he looked like the same Chat Noir in the same black suit, but his personality had changed and that was evident to anyone who observed him. Ladybug quickly hopped down off her rooftop hiding spot and onto the bridge.
"Chat Noir, what are you doing?" She yelled at him as their eyes connected.
Chat Noir's expression shifted for a split second and she swore she saw his outfit change to something normal - like civilian clothes. She blinked in confusion as Chat Noir's smile turned grim once more.
"Hello, My Lady," he replied, sarcasm and venom lacing his words.
"Chat Noir, what do you think you're doing? This isn't right!"
"It's not Chat Noir any longer, My Lady. Haven't you heard? It's Chat Chanceux now," he smirked.
His expression made her feel nauseous, this wasn't the Chat Noir she knew. This version of him emitted an uncomfortable and unwanted aura.
"No, it's not, you will never be Chat Chanceux! You will always be Chat Noir, my hero; my partner; my friend."
She saw the glitch again, his eyes turned from pure evil to compassionate but his eyes were different in another attribute. They were human. The real version of Chat Noir was gone before she could analyse him any further.
