{Hey! Is it to soon for another update? Of course not! Seeming as Chat and LB spend a lot of time around the Pont des Arts Bridge I felt that I should make them lock a part of themselves there (if you catch my drift ;) )! I hope you all enjoy this chapter and if you do be sure to leave a vote and some comments, I know it's pretty long (whoops!) but it's very much worth it! Bien Jouè! (ALSO WE HIT 400+ READS ALREADY WHAT!!! THANK YOU ALL!) - Sarah}
Ladybug landed swiftly at the Pont des Arts Bridge as she fiddled with the lock she held in her spotted hands. The gold brass colour of the padlock shone under the street lamps light and she smiled to herself slightly. She knelt down and glanced down to the lock she held in her hands. She ran her fingers across the words she had carefully written upon it as she took in a deep breath. She wrapped the lock around the fence that lay before her and snapped it shut. She leant back and admired it as she twiddled the key for it between her fingers. She smiled as she held the key up to her lips, pressing it against them slightly. This lock wasn't for love or for friendship like so many others on the bridge were.
But she kept the key, she didn't throw it into The Seine like all the others. This was a key that, when the time was right, they would toss it into the shallows together as one. Ladybug stood up and stepped away from the fence with the key tightly grasped in her hand. She reached down to grab her yo-yo and to head home before a voice stopped her.
"Ladybug?"
Her heart halted, it sounded like Adrien Agreste. Her crush. Her breath hitched, she stumbled relentlessly to find something to say as she turned around to see the very opposite of Adrien Agreste. Chat Noir stood before her with a playful smile sewn on his face. Her mouth was left agape, she was shocked that she would ever confuse the two.
"Chat Noir?" She questioned, finally finding her voice but it was laced with confusion.
She was convinced the voice she had heard was Adrien Agreste, but maybe she was just thinking about him too much. She always seemed to be.
"Obviously, why are you so surprised My Lady?" He chuckled.
"I-I thought you were somebody else, that's all," she smiled but the similarity in his voice and Adrien's still bugged her.
"Somebody else? Who could compare to me?" He snickered as he made his way closer to Ladybug.
She looked into his eyes and sighed, "I thought you were Adrien," she shrugged admittedly.
"Oh! Loverboy, eh? Why? Were you expecting him?" Chat chuckled but, on the inside, his heart was racing at the fact that she was thinking of him; the real him.
"No, not at all," she chuckled, "it's just- never mind," she shook her head, not wanting to divulge what she felt or had an inkling towards.
"It's just what? You know you can tell me anything, Bugaboo," he grasped her hands in his and smiled down supportively at her.
"It's nothing,"she smiled but she found herself scanning his eyes for any clue to who he really was.
The answer was staring at her right in the face but she couldn't, for the life of her, put her finger on it, the solution seemed so close but so far.
"Okay, if you're sure I won't pry any more," he smiled, dropping her hands slightly but still holding on just, "so, what're you doing out so late? This is very out of character for you, My Lady."
Ladybug quickly shifted her eyes to the lock she had just attached to the bridge, "nothing, just needed some air," she shrugged slightly
Thoughts of Adrien and Chat Noir swirled through her mind as a silence fell between the pair. She couldn't meet her eyes with his, her brain fumbled as it came to terms with the truth. Everything was beginning to slowly line up inside her head.
