A phone click, silence. A slight chuckle, silence. Vengeance was in their grasp, soon what they dreamed would be theirs. They chuckled once again. Sweet, sweet revenge.

Everything was pristine white for her, she winced at the bright lights that appeared before her. Her chest felt heavy, like a tonne of bricks lay upon it. She shot up in a panic, she had no idea where she was.
"Alya! Thank god, are you alright?" A voice greeted her hastily.
It was her mother, Marlena. She shot over to her daughter as soon as Alya opened her eyes in a panic.
"Mum? What's going on? Where am I?" Alya looked at her mother with fear in her eyes as she clutched tightly onto her arm with anticipation.
"Alya, take in some deep breaths, alright? Everything's okay. You're in the hospital."
"The hospital? Why?" Alya asked calmer than she had spoken before but she was still unmistakably shaken up.
"You've developed takotsubo cardiomyopathy but it's going to be alright, it's easily treatable and you're going to be fine," Alya's mother smiled warmly at her but she was still undeniably confused.
"Tako-what?"
"Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, it's more commonly known as broken heart syndrome. It's caused because of sudden physical or emotional stress on the heart and your heartstrings break. At least, that's what the doctor told me, we did a scan of your heart and everything is going as good as it can be at this point," Marlena smiled at her daughter again, stroking her hair slightly for comfort.
Marlena noticed Alya squinting slightly so she reached over and handed her daughter her glasses, Alya put them on with a thankful smile. Marlena had no idea why this had happened but it worried her deeply, her baby girl had been through something and she wasn't there to help her.
"Broken heart syndrome?" Alya mumbled, furrowing her eyebrows slightly as she adjusted her glasses subconsciously.
"You want to talk about what happened, sweetie?" Her mother asked, worry coating her eyes.
Alya shook her head, "it's alright Mamà," Marlena nodded slowly knowing her daughter needed space, "I'm not too sure I remember what happened myself."
The pair sat in silence as a million thoughts raced through Alya's head at once, what was going to happen to her? Did her friends know?
"What about Marinette?" Alya asked quickly, her thoughts overpowering her mouth.
"She's on her way now, actually, she should be arriving soon," Marlena stated, smiling sadly down at her daughter before taking a seat in one of two chairs beside Alya.
Alya nodded, running her hand over her heart slightly. She remembered feeling a pain in her chest but she never would've thought it would be this serious. This syndrome seemed like something that happened in cartoons. A broken heart seemed like such a factious thing to have, it seemed impossible. But it was all too real. She ran her hands through her hair, a trait that was common with her when she was stressed or confused. She sighed, at least she was alright. But a thought bugged her. Why had this happened, was it because of Nino? Was she so overly in love with him that when she was left alone to express her heartache the emotional stress on her heart was too much? She couldn't think straight, too many thoughts jumbled themselves around her head for anything to make sense. Did Nino really mean this much to her? Deep down she knew that he did. All the countless thoughts and dreams about him resurfaced and she knew, in that moment, that he did mean that much to her. He was worth the broken heart.
