Chapter Three

We spent most of the weekend shopping for new baby things for Ella. Mum had kept some of my things from when I was a baby such as toys, clothes and a crib, but we had to buy a pram and other essentials such as nappies and bottles.

But now it was Monday, and I had to go to college.

I was terrified of going, but knew I had to sooner or later. I was most afraid of running into anyone from secondary school. I didn't exactly tell anyone I was leaving... Half of me was hoping nobody would of noticed I just suddenly disappeared. Yet I knew that wouldn't happen.

I knew that some of the people I knew would be going to the same college as me, but maybe there was a chance that they wouldn't remember me.

But the person I was most worried about seeing was Brandon. Ella's father.

We were together for three years before we finally slept together. I completely regretted it, as it was my first time and we were both too young. The next day we got into a massive argument when I found out he had a one night stand with my best friend Tia's sister. So of course finding out I was pregnant with his baby was the was the last thing I wanted to hear.

But when I asked my mother about how he was doing, she had told me he'd gotten a football scholarship to a college in Manchester. She didn't know if he had accepted, considering it was a long way away, but it's a good opportunity for Brandon, and I knew how dedicated he was to football.

I pulled up in the school car park in my little yellow car that used to belong to my mum's brother (my uncle) but when he got a new one he gave me this one for free.

I parked up, and then got out and slowly walked up to the main entrance of the college. I walked up to the main office, and got my map of the school and timetable to show where my lectures and classes would be.

I would be studying childcare and music. I'd played the piano since I was six, and had started learning guitar when I was thirteen. Even though I enjoyed playing those instruments, my real passion was singing. Sadly, I was too shy to ever be able to follow that as a career, which is why I'm also doing the the childcare course. I reckon it will help me know how to take better care of Ella, and I was planning to work with children when I left college. Ever since I gave birth to Ella, I've had a really strong maternal instinct, and just love spending time with kids! They cause a lot less drama than people my age.

Once the middle-aged lady sitting behind the desk had given me all that I needed, I studied the map and located where my guitar lesson would be. I kept help of the map in my hand as I made my way to the classroom, glancing at it every so often as to make sure I was going the right way.

The school was a lot larger and more intimidating than secondary school. There were more classrooms, more people, and more wrong turns to take and places to get lost. I kept walking into people whilst I was looking at the map, and was sworn at numerous times.

"Ergh!" I groaned, as I found myself in the science department. I looked at the map again, and realised I was on the complete wrong side of the school, "How on earth did I get over here..." I muttered quietly to myself.

"Lost?" I heard someone inquire, and jumped around in surprise to come in contact with someone very familiar. I took a step back and looked him up and down, as he did the same for me. He had shaggy black hair, tanned skin and was very tall. When he brushed his hair out of his unforgettable grey eyes, I suddenly remembered who he was. "Oh my God, Meadow?"

"Yeah," I nodded, suddenly feeling shy under the gaze of my best friend since year seven, "Hi, Dylan..." He didn't say anything, so I looked up from my feet, and turned my vision to his sad eyes. I knew why he was upset.
