In a matter of hours, Sam Winchester had somehow managed to work his way into every last inch of my brain and drive away almost all of my other thoughts.

After leaving me at the Greenlight, presumably to go home with some guy she met, Sylvie gave me no choice but to find a ride elsewhere. And Sam had been willing to take me. However, since we had both been drinking, and his brother was in worse shape than we were, Sam called a cab for me.

"You sure you'll be okay by yourself?" He asked before I climbed into the car. I smiled and nodded. "Yeah I'll be okay."

"Okay," he grinned, showcasing two rows of blindingly white teeth.

I turned back to the car door, when Sam stopped me.

"When will I see you again?" He asked softly.

"How about tomorrow at eight?" I asked cheekily.

Again, the handsome man grinned, and I couldn't help but join him.

"That sounds great."

Now, as I lay in bed, the alcohol having evaporated from my system what seemed like ages ago, all I could do was smile and gaze at the ceiling.

Okay, maybe the alcohol hadn't left yet. But I had a feeling my life would be getting a lot more interesting.

---

To my surprise, I woke up early the next morning, feeling better than I had the day before. Maybe it was just the lack of a hangover or maybe the excitement of seeing Sam again. Either way, there was a little more bounce in my step as I got ready that morning.

After a cold shower and an application of minimal makeup, I wandered over to the landline and dialed Sylvie. However, when she didn't pick up on the third ring, as she almost always did, I left a message.

"Hey Silv, it's Hazel. I uh, I just wanted to make sure you got home okay. I didn't see you leave last night and I was a little worried. Call me when you get this. Bye."

After I hung up, I realized she was probably still sleeping off her hangover, and resolved to try again later on.

Since it was my day off, I decided to do some grocery shopping and compiled a quick list before heading out.

The grocery store was packed, which was unexpected, as it was technically still a work day. The lines at the checkouts were long, and there were at least four carts crowding every aisle. I decided to go to the produce section, since it seemed the least packed.

As I rounded a corner, my cart collided with another cart. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry I-" "it was my fault completely- Hazel?" The man who I had crashed into asked. I looked up, locking eyes with none other than Sam himself.

"Sam! Hey," I replied, suddenly feeling very sheepish. "What're you doing here?"

The moment it was out of my mouth, I mentally slapped myself. Good one, Hazel.

Sam laughed, gazing at the items in his cart: beer, potato chips, a pecan pie and a few other scattered snack foods. "Just came to grab a few things after my run." I nodded, taking in his gray sweats and Nike windbreaker, unable take my eyes away from the way his arms rippled beneath the jacket's thin material.

"Are we- uh, were you still wanting to see me tonight?" He asked after a moment, breaking me out of my trance. "Yeah, of course!" I answered with a smile. A look of relief seemed to cross Sam's face. "Great! Was there anything specific you wanted to do or..?" "Surprise me." I replied.

"I'll do my best." Sam assured me. "But I may need your number to do that."

"Oh! Yeah, I totally forgot! Here," I murmured, handing him my cell phone. He handed me his as well and I typed in the digits.

"Alright Hazel, I'll see you tonight." He smiled, taking his phone back and putting it away.

"See you then, Sam," I agreed.

And though I still had an entire list of items to get, I found myself unmoving, staring after the incredibly handsome man as he walked away.
