I got home around five in the morning so I got about three hours of sleep. I was in the middle of a dream that was more like a memory of me and Pops at the park, anyways, being Saturday my alarm wasn't set so I woke up to Alfred knocking on my door.

"Miss Mary, it is eight o'clock. You don't want to be wasting the day in bed do you?"

"Yes," I said a little grogedly.

"Well too bad. I already have breakfast ready, I would like you down in fifteen minutes."

"Ugh!" I groaned, throwing myself out of bed or else I wouldn't get up at all.

I slid down the banister, still in my Flash pajamas, the big lightning bolt symbol laid lightly over my chest, while the red pants covered in Flash logo's wrapped loosely around my legs. I jumped off the banister at the bottom of the stairs and ran into the kitchen, I sat at the breakfast bar as Alfred set a plate of blueberry pancakes and a glass of orange juice in front of me.

"Thanks!" I said as if I didn't get up just two minutes ago. "Can I have some syrup, please?"

"I don't know, can you?" A man with black hair laced with thin gray streaks, wearing glasses, a light brown trench coat, and holding a matching fedora teased as he walked into the kitchen.

"Uncle Clark!" I shouted with excitement and jumped into his arms causing him to drop the hat.

He chuckled as I lifted my legs so he would have to hold me up, he's pretty strong for a man his age and I'm more than sure I know the reasons. "How's my girl?" He asked giving me a gentle kiss on the forehead.

"Good!" I said as he tried to put me on the ground, but I still had my legs up so instead he just kept holding me.

"Don't you have anything else to add to that, Miss Mary?" Alfred asked.

I gave him a confused look before he added, "No, bored? No, I almost got hit by a car?" He teased, as he picked up Uncle Clark's hat and went to put it on the hat rack in the other room. I gave Uncle Clark a sheepish grin as his facial expression turned from gentle happiness, to concern, "Wait, what happened? Are you alright?"

I smiled at him, hoping to stop his worrying and not have to explain and take the risk of an argument like yesterday. Seeing this wasn't working, I gave up and said, "Yesterday, when I was walking home after school I started to cross the street with the rest of the crowd and some idiot thought it would be a good idea to drive up to the crosswalk and stop inches away from hitting me. Also, yes I'm fine."

Uncle Clark was about to say something, but Alfred walked in just then and doing his job asked, "Shall I take your coat, Mister Kent?"

"Actually, I can't stay for long, I just wanted to swing by. I'm in Gotham to work on an article and I thought, 'Hey, why not drop by for a little surprise?'," he answered.

"Ooh!" I said excitedly.

"What, girly?" He asked, surprised from my sudden chirp.

"How long are you going to be in Gotham for!?" I knew I shouldn't be so excited and get my hopes up so high, but I couldn't help it, for all I know he'll just be here for two hours then have to leave.

"Maybe," he thought for a second. "Two days at the least."

I gasped, "Alfred, please!" I didn't have to say any more, he knew what I was asking.

"Well, I guess, but it's mainly up to Mister Kent," Alfred permitted. "But, I'm sure he would like to stay closer to the story."

I really want him to stay, but it's his choice, I'm not going to force him. Aw, who am I kidding!?
