Chapter Ten
I am such an idiot.
I was too focused on how I would dread this party, but didn't even realize that Hunter would be here! Which made me hate going to this stupid party even more.
"I didn't think you'd come," Hunter says, taking a sip from the red cup he was holding.
"Yeah, because I forgot you'd be here," I hiss, swatting his arm off my shoulder.
Hunter touches his chest in mock hurt, "Ouch, clumsy. You got some pretty harsh words there."
I roll my eyes and turn to walk away, but Hunter grabs my arm and stops me, "Where do you think you're going? They're turning on the hot tub, the fun hasn't even begun yet," he protests.
"Yeah, I'd rather not," Ripping my arm away out of his hold, I walk away. In the hot tub? With him? Haha, no. The dirty minded pig might try something, and tonight I'd like to stay a virgin thank you very much.
I snap out of my thoughts as someone hugs me lazily from behind, "Allyyyyy where have you been? I've been looking all over for you," Kacie slurs.
I sigh, this always happens. I go to a party with Kacie and she goes and gets drunk, which results in me having to drag her ass to my car and drive her home.
"Okay, Kacie let's go home now." Ignoring Kacie's hopeless protests, I ask for the car keys since she drove us here.
"Yeahhh, about that," she giggles as she sways a little bit, trying to find the keys in her purse.
"I don't know," She states seriously, then erupts in a fit of giggles.
"You lost them?" I question, exasperated.
She nods her head, laughing. I groan, rubbing my temples from the pounding headache I was having. "How are we going to get home?
"I'll take you."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Silence.
Absolute silence.
After many protests and arguments, Hunter insisted in giving me and Kacie a lift home, where she slid into the backseat and basically passed out, leaving me sitting next to Hunter.
"Why are you taking us home anyway?" I ask, curious. I mean, isn't it kind of weird? Why would he want to take us home, when I'm sure he'd like to stay at the party to get laid.
"Do you not want to get a lift home or what?" He mumbles, as he concentrates on the road.
I sigh.
Then the silence continues.
"Well, actually maybe because your presence made the party boring," He smirks.
I roll my eyes, ignoring him, and turn away.
"Aw, I didn't hurt clumy's little feelings did I?" He mocks, annoyingly.
"It was true, I mean you weren't even having just a little fun! C'mon Carter, live a little," He pushes.
Well I can agree with that, I should be having fun. It's just--I don't know. Something's holding me back, I guess it's just not my scene?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pulling up into my driveway, I undo my seat belt and get ready to get out. Hunter already dropped off Kacie, so I was finally going to be able to rest off this headache.
"Well thanks for the ride," I mumble, stepping out of the car.
Closing the car door, I'm about to walk to my front door when Hunter calls my name. Spinning around, I see his window rolled down, a cigarette in his mouth.
"Maybe I gave you a ride because, I don't know, I'm a nice guy" He winks, then drives off, with me speechless and frozen.
The confusing part?
I was blushing like an idiot the whole time.
