Chapter Twenty

Alex's POV

After I cried myself to sleep, I woke off to my alarm going off. Ugh, I had to get ready for work. I got up, grabbed my dress, and got in the shower. After my shower, I dried my hair, washed my face, put on my makeup, got in my dress, put on my shoes, and put my trench coat over my dress. I jumped in my car and was off to work.

When I got to work, I saw this little, black headed girl at the bar. Oh, she must have time to make up or something. I walked up to her and smiled.

"Hi, can I help you?" she asked sweetly.

"Um, no, but you can go home now I got the rest of the shift," I said nodding towards the door.

"Ooo, are you Alexandria?" she asked getting nervous.

"Yeah that's me."

"Well Danny wants to see you."

"OK what about?"

"He wants to fire you," she said wincing.

"WHAT?!?!?!" I screamed at her.

"I'm sorry but please don't shoot the messenger."

"Where's Danny?"

"In the back," she said pointing.

I turned towards where she pointed when I hear her voice but it sounds smug when she says, "Go kick his ass."

I walked into Danny's office and saw him counting a stack of money.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" I screamed at him.

I thought I heard him mutter an, 'oh $hit'

"Alexandria, what are you doing here?"

"I am here because there is some girl standing at the bar and saying that I am fired."

"You didn't get the phone call?"

"Oh I got the phone call, that's totally why I am standing here right now so pissed off that I really want to rip your ears off," I said my voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Oh," he said while looking down.

"Well are you going to tell me why?"

"It's that damn boyfriend of yours," he said pointing an accusing finger at me.

"So you're telling me that you are firing me because my boyfriend was doing the bouncer's job?"

"The bouncers are only looking for harm," he said.

"Oh, ok so being pulled to the bathroom against my will, then I ripped my arm away, then being pulled by my hair is no harm?"

"Oh, Alexandria, are you hurt now?"

"No,"

"Ok then you're fired, now get out of my office," he said waving someone in.

I look behind me to see Buck, one of the bouncers, come in and grab my arm. He pulled me out of the office and almost to the door until I hear someone scream at the top of their lungs, "STOP!!"

We both turn around to see my replacement standing there panting.

"DANNY, GET OUT HERE!" she screamed towards the back. He walks out with his head held high and with his chest puffed out, but in his eyes, I could tell he was about to pee his pants.

"Now Danny why are you being so cruel to her?" she said while looking sweet.

"Her boyfriend has scared off our best customers. "

"So you're punishing her for it?"

"Yes."

"I quit if you fire her," she said smirking.

"Ok, bye bye," he said waving.

"Ok we'll go but remember that we are...Correction, were your best employees. Bye," she said grabbing my arm and we walk out of the door.

"Thanks...."

"Bethany, but B for short," she said winking.

"Thanks B."

"You're welcome....."

"Alexandria, but I go by Alex."

"You're welcome Alex or my new best friend," she said with a squeal.
