JADE'S P.O.V.:

The sea was rather rough and as a result the ferry rocked on the water more than it should have. Though surprisingly none of us got seasick.

We had decided to eat some dinner on the ferry as June told us that there probably wouldn't be another opportunity until the morning.

"Hey," June said as she sat next to me on the deck, both of us now facing Calais as the boat crept closer and closer to its shore, "You having fun?" she asked.

"Yeah," I told her, "Thanks for this, I really needed to get away and just be with friends, you know?"

I saw June nod out of the corner of my eye; for a moment her eyes turned glassy as she seemed to forget where she was and then she returned back to normal as if it had never happened.

"It would help if I knew where we were going though." I said, pushing slightly.

"Still not telling." June told me, still looking straight ahead.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked.

She turned to face me with slight confusion written on her face, "Yes, of course. Still tired though; I didn't get much sleep in the car."

I didn't believe her for a moment, but I decided not to press the issue.

"So where are the others?" I asked, desperate for a change of topic. "Oh, running around somewhere probably, but we should round them up soon."

"Like sheep?" I joked.

"Exactly like sheep. They will make a game out of it, will at least Mike, Alice and Rich will. So I'll need your help."

I considered this for a moment; did I really want to run around a ferry, chasing a gang of boys? With all these strangers staring at me, wondering if I was completely sane?

"Please?" June pressed, "I'm so tired." As I looked her in the eye I could see that she was telling the truth this time, I was plainly written on her face; she really needed to sleep.

"Fine." I said reluctantly, really not looking forward to the humiliation.

June stood up and pulled me up by my hands so that I was standing next to her, "Come on." she said, leading the way by walking through the big double doors.

"Jaz! Jasmine!" she called out and after a second I realised Jasmine was sprawled over a seat on her iPod with Tristan and Nathan next to her.

"What?" she asked, looking up from her screen.

"Have you seen the others?" I asked and she shook her head, indicating she didn't know.

"Okay, guard these two, we'll be right back." June told her, gesturing to the two boys.

Jaz tried to get up, but her legs were tangled in the armrest of the seat next to her. The last glance I caught of her was just before June pulled me back outside and I saw her lying upside down with the boys cackling next to her.

June broke into a run the second she laid eyes on Rich and he darted away the second he knew what was happening.

I saw Mike standing a few yards further and apparently June had noticed the same thing, because as she ran after Rich she was making extreme arm movements towards Mike.

I jogged towards him, still not comfortable with making a fool of myself.

"Please don't run." I said as I saw that he was looking after Rich and June, obvious confusion in his eyes.

"Why would I?" he asked me, "June seemed to think you would run away when we found you." I answered.

"In front of all these people?" He sounded genuinely surprised, "Though I think Alice would." he added as he pointed towards her.

I sighed, "Please help me."

I didn't like begging, but I really didn't want to run after her. Alice did quite a bit of jogging on a regular basis, so she'd be better and faster than me without a doubt. Though I did promise June I'd help her out.

Mike took a moment to think over what I had asked him to do, obviously not sure he wanted to.

"Please?" I asked again, really not proud of my behaviour, but there was no way I was going to do this on my own.

"Fine." he muttered, then took a step towards Alice.

"Ready?" I nodded and Mike held up his fingers, counting down from three. When he'd reached three we both broke out in a run.

Thankfully we had the element of surprise on our side; Alice was probably expecting June to come after her and had definitely not thought that we would.

Mike and I both grabbed hold of one of Alice's arms. Alice struggled to break free, but once we reached the seats where the others were perched and she saw that June had caught Rich, she stopped.

She knew when to fold her cards.

"Is that everyone?" Nathan asked, now hanging upside down beside Jasmine in his seat.

"Yes, we should go back to the car." Tris said, "We should be there in ten minutes." A few minutes later we had all climbed into the car and were ready to leave.

June was in the driver's seat this time. In Calais we had to wait a while before they opened the latch and let all the cars drive into the night.

Twenty minutes later June broke the silence by saying: "I don't care what any of you want, I'm the driver and I'm obsessed with this song so we're listening to it."

"God, is it Andy?"Jaz asked from the backseat.

June didn't answer and after the first notes of the song she muttered: "Yes, it is."

"You know you love it." June teased just as I leaned forward to see the screen of June's iPod.

I then saw that she was playing something called We Don't Have To Dance by Andy Black and after a minute I realised I actually really liked it.

It was coming up to half past one, French time, when we pulled up in a parking lot outside of a petrol station.

"Guys, I'm sorry, but as we're so late I had to call the B&B to get a refund because there was no way we were going to get there in time."

June looked over at Tristan with an uncertain expression on her face. "We'll have to sleep in the car." Tris said which was followed by a series of groans and grunts.

"I'm sorry." June said, desperately, "But there's no other way."

"No, it's fine." I piped up, "We'll make it work."

I looked around at the others, silently asking them for backup, but everyone stayed quiet.

When I turned around I gave June what I thought was a warm smile, but she only returned half-heatedly.

I was sure that when we got where we were headed to everyone would be a lot happier. This bad mood was probably just the result of being stuck in the car for too long.

My thoughts kept on spinning around in my head, but at a certain point exhaustion hit me and I fell asleep.

Author's Note:

I thought I would have more chapters for you all, but I was in France and I was constantly distracted and didn't feel like writing. I'm hopefully going to Holland in a few hours and I'll take my laptop so if I feel like writing, I can.

Please vote and comment if you liked this installment, because your feedback keeps me going and happy.
