JADE'S P.O.V.:

Being on holiday, but not actually going on holiday sucked.

Big time.

My parents went away to the Netherlands together and my older brother, Tyler, had run away with his girlfriend.

Well, not actually run away, but he was supposed to look after me this summer.

One of my best friends, June did promise me that she would give me the best summer I've ever had, but that's all she'd said.

I haven't heard from her or any of my friends in a few days.

Then all of a sudden my phone bleeped:

To: Jade   From: June

Be ready in an hour.

Ready? Ready for what?

I decided to ask her, but she only replied with:

To: Jade   From: June

Not telling, just do it.

This was June, it wasn't as if she was plotting to kill me or anything, so I decided to just do it.

As I had no clue what I was getting ready for, I grabbed a suitcase and started to pack for the worst scenario.

Clothes for any type of weather, toiletries, money and just loads of essentials got thrown into my suitcase and a handbag.

By the time I sat on my suitcase to be able to close it around forty minutes had passed.

I hauled all my stuff down the stairs into the entrance hall.

It was a normal summer morning, somewhere early July and the clock in my living room said it was around 11:00.

There was some time left for a quick breakfast so I grabbed some cereal and waited to hear the sound of the doorbell.

Fifteen minutes later I had cleared up my bowl and sat next to the front door, scrolling through my Twitter feed; nothing even remotely interesting was happening in the world.

Finally the bell ran and I immediately jumped up to open the door.

"June!" I ran into her arms, "Finally."

"Wow, Jade, calm down."

"Sorry, I just haven't seen you in a long time."

Without asking, she took hold of my suitcase, "Dude!" she exclaimed, "What do you have got in there?"

"Well, you didn't tell me what I was packing for, so I packed for anything."

A moment later June's boyfriend, Tristan, appeared behind her, "Hey Jade." he said.

"Hey Tris." I replied.

He helped June lift my suitcase and they walked towards a large car.

"It's my uncle's car." June explained, "On my mum's side, but he's not gonna use it this summer, he went to a retreat with my mum."

When I walked up to the car I realised that it was already packed with people, my best friends.

Jasmine sat in the middle, her boyfriend Rich on her left and Mike on her right and Nathan was sat in the back, alone.

"Well, don't just stand there, get in!" Nathan said, reaching through the open door, grabbing my arm and practically pulling me onto the seat next to him.

"So," June said, slamming the trunk closed, "Is that everything?" I assumed she was talking to me, so I answered: "Yep, but um, where are we going?"
