JADE'S P.O.V.:
When I awoke the next morning I had a serious pain in my neck and at the bottom of my spine.
All eight of us had to sleep in the car last night and it hadn't been comfortable to say the least.
As I looked around I noticed that half of the car was empty; presumably the others had gone to the bathroom or something.
"Morning." Nathan suddenly said, shoving me shoulder lightly.
"Morning." I replied, giving him a tired smile.
"Can I um get past?" he asked, gesturing to the door left of me.
"Oh, yeah, of course." I stammered, turning around in my seat so I was physically able to actually open my door and stepped outside.
"Thanks." Nathan said as he came to stand next to me in the sunlight.
"You know, I can't remember the last time I left the UK. I must've been very small." My own words surprised me, I haven't actually said that out loud.
June and Jasmine knew of course, but I had no idea why I just told Nathan that.
As I stood next to him I felt a warm and safe feeling radiate off of him. That was probably what made me randomly confess my lack of traveling.
It shouldn't be a big secret, but it was just another thing that proved that my parents didn't have as much money as they would have liked.
"I'm gonna go inside to find the girls." I told Nay to break the silence.
"Okay." he said, "If you don't mind, I'll stay here."
I gave him a confused look, but I didn't ask him why; I knew better than anyone what it feels like when people poke around where they're not wanted.
"Okay."
I walked towards the entrance.
"Morning!" I announced happily as I walked into the cafe and saw my friends sitting on the high chairs at the bar.
"Coffee?" Alice asked, holding up her mug.
"Jade doesn't like coffee." June told her when I didn't reply immediately.
What she said was true, but it still stung for some reason.
I opened my mouth and without even registering what I was saying I said: "I'll have a latte."
Apparently a latte was half milk and tasted the least of coffee, compared to the other options.
I didn't know why, but I suddenly had the urge to prove June wrong. June looked at me, raised an eyebrow and smiled.
I sat down at the bar and five minutes later I was given my latte.
After my first sip I concluded it needed more sugar and time to cool down, because it was still very hot.
"Did you sleep well?" June asked, "Yeah, I guess so." I answered.
"I bet you did." Alice whispered in my ear with a smirk on her face, "You looked pretty cozy with Nathan."
"What?" I couldn't remember anything, "It wasn't like that."
"Yeah, yeah." she said, bringing her mug up to her lips to blow on the hot liquid.
June stood up, "Do we have to leave?" I asked her.
"No, you don't have to hurry. We have plenty of time today, so don't worry." She then payed the waitress and walked through the double doors while putting on her sunglasses.
