Lindsey's POV
The world is cursed. No, I'm serious. When Emma mentioned the Dark Goddess, I could practically feel the color draining from my face. When my mother broke the shell around the world, she placed a curse on it so every thousand years, the doomstones would fall again. Now, that power is in my complete control, and I can't control it worth crap.
I have to keep this a secret. If someone actually finds out that I'm the cause of the doomstones falling and ruining people's families and lives, the punishment for me would probably be severe as death.
I personally don't understand why anyone hangs out with me. I don't exactly have a good personality. Emma, for instance. She the heroine who is going to save Rivera from complete and utter destruction, (aka; me) and has a heart as pure as silk. But then, most of the time, if you glance beside her, you can see me too, with my heavy black eyeliner, oh and not to mention, the cause of this land's complete termination.
I wonder what would happen if anyone found out. If they could prove that somehow, it was really me, I would probably be dead in an instant. But what if I was accused, but they couldn't prove anything? They would probably just banish me into the deep part of the Elderwood. Not many people actually know about that place. I could actually comfortably live there. The Leafes could take me in and raise me as one of their own.
I toss and turn in my bed. I've dug myself into a crappy situation and I can't get out.

"WAKE UP LINDSEY!" Emma screams. I, still half asleep, jump, roll over into a burrito with my blankets, and fall off the bed. As I pick myself up off the floor, I shoot daggers at her with my eyes. "Don't do that again," I say, angrily. "I'm going back to sleep." Emma, who is laughing her head off, calms herself. "I'm sorry.... But you have mail!" She exclaims. "Did you look at it?" I ask. "Nope, we can look together!" "Good. I was just praying that you weren't one of those people who go through other people's mail," I say. We walk outside. It's a great day. Not too hot, not too cold, and very sunny. I open my mailbox. Inside, is a shiny, golden envelope, sealed with a crimson ribbon. "Wow! That looks fancy!" Emma exclaims. I very carefully unwrap the letter so I don't rip the envelope. I open the letter and read:
"Dear Lindsey and Emma,
Your presence is needed at the Royal Court.
Sincerely,
Erik"
"Wow! You got a letter from the king!" Emma shouts. "You even got his signature!" I don't say anything. This can't be good. Why would I be needed in the Castle? They're probably onto me.Emma's POV
So, Lindsey and I started to travel to the Castle. I wonder what the castle looks like! Is is big and beautiful inside? Is it extremely fancy? I looked at Lindsey, but, she didn't seem as excited as I was. Her face was really pale. Something is definitely wrong. Lindsey was one of the most smartest and bravest person I know! With one look, I knew something just wasn't settling in.
When we walked inside the castle, my eyes grew wide. This castle was beautiful! There was an expensive red velvet carpet that shone in the light. Bright silk curtains for the windows. And, to top it all off, a huge diamond chandelier was hanging from the ceiling!
We walked into the throne room, the king and the professor were already there, looking quite impatient. They told us to sit down, and so we did.
The king stood up on his chair and said "It's about time you'd show up! We've got some important questions to ask you, and I don't have all day!" The king sat back in his chair, mumbling "I'm never gonna have my beauty sleep at this rate..."
The professor stood up, and got a sheet of paper out. It looked like something to keep notes on. This must be a lot of questions. He adjusted his glasses, and began reading.
"Emma, do you know a place called, The Land of the Stars?"
My eyes grew wide. That place was supposed to be kept secret! I guess it's not so hush-hush now... Nervously, I replied. "Yes... How do you know what that is?" Not answering my question, he continued to talk. "And, is it true that you have lost most of your family and friends?" This guy was really starting to concern me.
"Yeah, that's true. But, why are you asking this?! How do you know about The Land of the Stars?!"
Still not answering my question, the king stands up and says, "We have talked with Dr. Huges over here, and we have come to conclusion that you are the decendent of the Life Goddess, and it's up to you to save Rivera from the Doomstone attack." The king said. My mind just stood still.
