Chapter 1:Looking for answers

Daylight filled my room as my eyes fluttered open.

"Morning sunshine." Maya ( may- a) said lowly

"Why are you always up so early and always at my house not your own."

"Well my dear friend the answer to your question is simple. Your cooking is life boo."

Maya sat up quickly. Picking up her things from days prior and shoving them in her bag.  Shoes and clothes all about my room, and all from her, only one half of the Waller twins. Maya's twin brother was probably asleep in the living room.
I looked around my room hating the mess it was. No matter how much I clean it Maya always destroyed it.
I gave her a half smile,leaving my room to actually see if her bother was here.
And sure enough there he was asleep on the couch like a little baby. So I did what any best friend would do at 7 o'clock in the morning.

"Wake up sleeping beauty. I said smacking him on the head.

I repeated this three more times before he actually sat up.

"Adontis, you and maya seriously need to stop staying at my house. You have places of your own." I said to him.

"I just hate being there now. Everything reminds me of Haley. It even still smells like her." He sighed out

Maya came in holding all her things, she pointed to the door telling her brother she was ready to go.

"It's going to be fine. It's only been two months. You won't get over her in a day." I said as I stood up on my tiptoes to hug him.
Adontis was 6'3,while Maya and I stood 5'3 barely. To hug him was a challenge.

I watched as they walked out the door, finally I could take a shower and not be worried someone will come in the bathroom.

I washed my hair and body. After I just stood under the hot water letting it fall into my back. I felt the trail the water took down my body. All too soon the water turned cold and I had to leave my heaven.
I stepped out grabbing the towel and wrapping it around me. Grabbing my tooth brush I brushed my teeth.
Leaving the bathroom I walked to my room and got dressed quickly.
Long shirt, black leggings and a pair of vans to top it off.

"Hey there babe where you going."
I jumped in surprise at the man standing in my hallway.
"Eryx what are you doing here." I said anger in my voice.

"Well Jake wants to see you. Something about Maya. He asked me to get you. So here I am."

"Doesn't explain why you thought it was okay to just let yourself in my apartment."

"I was hoping you were naked." He said a stupid smile plastered onto his face.

I pushed him out of my way as I walked to the living room. I hadn't seen him in years since the night at Natalia's grave, a little under four years ago.

"So princess, I was told to drive you too him. So Mira, let's get going. I have shit to do today."

"Oh Eryx, there's more to life then pointless sex with girls you'll soon catch something from." I bit out, with a big smile at the end.

I followed him out of my apartment building, and to his truck. I basically had to jump to even get in. Why someone needed a truck this big was beyond me.
Soon enough we were pulling up at a big house, the engine turned off and Eryx turned to me.

"Mira I just want to ta.."

"No. No, you don't get to do that. I said it years ago and I'll say it now. There is nothing left to be said. Now take me to Jake or take me home."

I followed him into the house and down a flight of stairs. Jakes office had been down stairs so no noise from inside the house disturbed him. Jake was part of some stupid gang, I personally didn't know anything bout. In all honesty I didn't care to know.
Eryx knocked before opening the door. I had only been in here once and I'd hoped to never come back.

"Mira, yes come in. Come in. Sit." He said pointing to a chair across from him.

"Why am I here Jake."

"I'll make it a short visit. I know you hate it here. But Maya, this girl.." He trailed off.

"She's gone and gotten herself into trouble again. The Bennett brothers are not ones to be fooled with and Maya just isn't listening to me."

"If she's not listening to her boyfriend what makes you think I'll be any different."

"No that's not the problem. The problem is Natalia's son. You know Keegan. He's about 8 now yes. Well Trevor Bennett wants him."

My face drained of color and I just stared at him, this huge man in front of me. My sister had it arranged for her son to be taken care of and protected. The only person who knew where he was, is Maya.

"She won't tell me where he is." He said getting annoyed

"Do you blame her. My nephew will have to live with them."

"Your sister should have thought about that before turning her backs on us for one of them. Do you see where it got her. A one way ticket to the grave."

"Dude not cool." I heard Eryx say from beside me.

"Fuck you, Jacob." I said as I got up to leave.

"If his father wants him just let him go. You haven't seen him in years."

"The only reason I haven't seen him is because I don't know where he is. Natalia made it clear she wanted no one but Maya to know and that's how it stayed."

"She said on her death bed, she didn't want her son part of this life. Mira, look at me." He said as my head slowly drifted up. "Natalia knew from the day she found out about her son that this would be his life. If she didn't want that she should have picked someone else to be with. Her choices are what got us here today. I hate The Bennett brothers but a father has a right to his son. You can't make a child suffer for his mothers choices."

"Fuck you. Talk to Maya. I hate this place and I hate all of you. Now leave me alone."

I got up quickly. Not looking back for anything. I opened the door before I began my hour walk home.I hate The Kobras and I hate those two men.
