Chapter 4: The Event

I slowly slid out of my car, and walked to the front door. This whole place has such an eerie vibe, I really don't enjoy it. I am here to see Keegan and that's all that matters.
I knocked on the door and backed away. The door opened and Trever came out.

"You're here for Keegan yes?"

"Yeah you said Saturday, so I came."

"Follow me." He stated and walked away.
I quickly shut the door and followed behind him. His house was huge and was so beautifully made. The inside of the house had a cheerful feel almost. Something I would never have Guessed.

Trever opened a door all the way down a long hall. He signaled me to follow him.

"You know he reminds me a lot of Natalia. He has her eyes. You do too actually, weird."

"Where is Keegan. I would just like to see him."

"Ahh yes I know. But first my brother and I need to talk with you."

"Why there's nothing we need to talk about I would just like to visit with my nephew." I said getting annoyed with him.

"The faster you let us talk, the faster you get to see my son."

"Fine whatever let's just go then."

He led me through another door and up a flight of stairs. Finally he opened a door leading to what looked like an office.

"Brother she is here ."

Slowly Neiko turned his chair around. His eyes trailed up and down my body. It felt as if he were judging me and that wouldn't surprise me.

All though I'd only met him a few times when Natalia was still here, he never seemed like a friendly guy. It was his work, his brother, and the business. That's all that seemed to matter to him.

"Hello little Mira."

"Neiko." I said with a nod

He gestured for me to sit. Slowly I walked toward him and sat in the chair across from his.

"It's been awhile. Why never a visit. I enjoyed your company." He said with a smirk.

"I know for a fact that's not true. All you ever did was yell at me and tell me not to touch anything. In fact you only ever let me in here once."

"I know. But you were such a nosey kid. I couldn't have you seeing something you weren't supposed to yes?"

"What ever you say Neiko."

"Now for the reason I wish to see you. I need you to help me with something."

"Well what is the something, because if its illegal I'm not doing it."

"No, I need you to come with me to an event tonight. It was a last minute thing and I have no one else to take."

"I don't have anything for those fancy events you go too. I work at a diner"

"I have everything you'll need."

"Fine, whatever just this once."

"Go now see your nephew. I'll need you to get ready soon."

I slipped out of the room quickly and followed the path I took in. Finally I started hearing Keegan's voice so I slowly walked towards it.

"Dad I want to come too. You'll be home late like always."

"I can't deny that I'll be home late because most likely I will be. But I promise we'll do something tomorrow okay?"

I took that as my time to enter the room.
