Louis POV
The call goes to voicemail after about two rings, proving she hit ignore. I sob without being wary of the ever increasing volume of the groans escaping my lips. This is all my fault. If I never insisted so greatly on going on the X Factor, I never would have had my phone smashed, I never would have had to live with the consequences, I never would have...lost her. That's exactly what has happened. I've lost her.
Niall's POV
"Y'alright mate?" Louis barely moved his head as he shook it 'no'. It's an odd sight to see Louis so upset, he's normally so bubbly and talkative, polar-opposites to the state he's in at present. We all watched from the van at the signing session as Harry comforted Louis as he cried and cried. I caught a glimpse of him sprinting off, but no one knows who or what provoked him. He just won't talk.
His new phone I gave him for his birthday is clutched tightly in his grasp, causing his knuckles to turn white. I remember how he insisted on keeping the same number as his old phone so I allowed him to, what is up with that kid I will never know. He said it would be easier that way, so anyone in his contacts on his old phone would still be able to call him. But I think he just did it because he felt like it.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" I ask softly, as if I'm cautious that my words might knock him over in his fragile state.
"Of course I want to talk about it, I mean why wouldn't I l? It's not like I'm crying or anything," he sarcastically remarks, and if he wasn't so upset, I know he would have pulled a face at me. Well a few words are better than no words, so that's a start.
"Okay...well is there anything I can do to help?"
He turns to face me, "You want to know what would help? What would really, really help? For her to pick up the god damn phone would help, for me to stop being an asshole would help, for the clocks to reverse to when I last held her would help, for the fucking world to just..." he trails off as his hands come up to hide his tears cascading down his cheeks. I bring him into a hug and rub his back with my hand.
"It's gonna be okay, Lou."
"No it isn't," he mumbles into my hoody, staining it with his tears.
"Who's she? You know, the one you were on about?" I instantly regret the words once they slip out of my mouth, knowing this isn't the time to bring it up.
He tenses at my words and replies simply, "She's the one I can't have."
Zayn's POV
I secretly took a picture of the red-headed girl I met, so I could stare at her beauty for endless hours. What was her name again? Chelsea? No, it was more like Cathy? No, it wasn't that either, it was something...Cat! That was the goddess' name...
Snap out of it Zayn!
She was just a fan, just a regular, typical...but she was different. There's something about her that I can't put my finger on. But who am I kidding, the chances are I'm not going to see her again, its one person out of seven billion.
I wander towards the lounge, finding Louis and Niall in a tight embrace, a heartbroken expression plastered to Louis' face. Slowly backing out of the lounge, I decide to head to Harry's room instead. I'm absolutely terrible at cheering people up, I find it so awkward it's unbelievable, so it was a wise decision to choose a different location, no offence to Louis and Niall.
My phone vibrates and I lift it to my face so I can read the message. My heart leaps as I see the name of the sender. "Hi, is this Zayn?" Cat sends, obviously checking that the number I wrote down is correct.
"Yup, u have the right number :)"
"That's a relief. I didn't want to be texting a randomer..."
I chuckle, "I'm no randomer ;) so what u doing?"
"Me and my friends are going to a frat house tomorrow night and quite excited. Haven't been to a party in ages!"
"Where's the party?"
"Hour away from Lindale."
I work out that it would be roughly half an hour away from our hotel by car. I don't think the boys are doing anything tomorrow night either, and we definitely need a party, the tour has set us into deep phases of boredom. My fingers dance over the keyboard, unsure whether or not I should dare to ask. "Do u mind if we come along? As in the boys and me?"
I wait anxiously and stare at the screen, before a blue light flashes moments later. "Sure, I'd love that :)"
Releasing a breath, I reply "Thanx, so what time and where?"
"7.30pm at Wigan Crescent?"
"Ok see u there beautiful :)"
"Cool see ya :)"
I barge into Harry's room and slump down on the bed before he can reject my intrusion. He looks at me as if to say 'what the hell?' then looks back at the door. "Hello, who is it? Yes, of course you can come in Zayn," he shoots me a sarcastic glare.
"Nice to see you too, Harry."
He sighs before he continues, "What's up?"
"Nothing really, I was just thinking..."
"You? Thinking? That never ends well..."
"Oh, so funny I forgot to laugh."
"Anyway, what were you thinking?" he sits down on the chair next to the wardrobe.
"Well, I have this friend..."
"You have a friend?" he smirks.
I ignore him and continue, "And they're going to a party-"
"A party? I don't know Zayn, remember what happened last time?" I think back to when Liam ended up completely wasted and making out with a really ugly girl.
I shudder at the hideous thought. "Well he could stay here?"
"And who with? See, this is exactly why we swore we would never go to a club again."
"Aha, but this is a frat house. There's a difference."
"Yeah, barely."
"Pwease Hazza?" I pull my victorious puppy dog face, "It'll be absolutely fine."
He ponders over the thought, "Okay fine, but Liam's staying in the car."
"Yeah, deal." I chuckle. I walk out of his room, now with a spring to my step. Tomorrow night is going to rock.
