Liam's POV
"Happy Puking," I sing into the girl's ear, earning an eye roll and a dismissal. That girl is definitely going to have a 48-hour hangover and it won't be my fault. That's what I've been doing this whole party, just wondering around and messing with drunk people's heads.
Sick I know, but in my defence, I've been banned from drinking and I deserve a bit of fun.
Continuing to roam the house, I come across a blonde male crawling along the floor.
"Niall, why are you-"
"Shhh," he silences me. "I'm trying to find Louis."
"But why are you crawling around on the floor?"
"Why shouldn't I crawl around on the floor?"
"'Cause..."I trail off. Even 'drunk-Niall' has a point.
"It's Louis!" he yells, abruptly falling onto the carpet, planking.
"What the-"
"I'm hiding."
"How is that hiding?"
"It's the art of camoflage."
Facepalming, I stroll away. Now I understand why some people choose not to drink.
Sky's POV
The inevitable throbbing in my skull comes to life as the decibels increase by the minute. I lazily scan the area around me, with no familiar faces coming into view.
Well, that's reassuring.
A black-haired girl stumbles next to me, losing her balance as her body knocks into mine, the grasp on my glass coming lose. A sharp smash sounds from beneath me, and I can't help but feel embarrassed even in my drunken state, as all eyes focus on me.
Cheers rebound off of the walls, as I giggle to disguise my uneasiness.
Way to go, Skylar.
A pair of hands scurry to pick up the pieces, and I have to stop myself from helping, knowing that with alcohol raiding my brain, I'll probably walk out of here with glass poking out of my finger.
Not pleasant.
"Hey guys, wanna play a game of 'Drink and Dive'? They're doing it in the lounge."
"Nah, we're good," a group of people rudely decline the girl's invitation, causing her to sigh in frustration.
"Well that's great, leave me to be a loner."
"I'll play," a female voice responds. Pairs of eyes turn to me as I realise my mouth formed the words.
What the hell am I getting myself into?
The girl's face lights up, her brilliant whites contrasting with her pure black hair. "Awesome! Come on, let's go," she squeals in excitement and doesn't hesitate to drag me to the already occupied lounge.
A circle has already started to take shape on the rug, with various teenagers filling the spaces. I squat down next to the black-haired girl, glancing round the circle.
"So what's your name?"
"Sky, you?"
"Bailey," she flashes me another one of her stunning smiles, before hushing the boy next to her as the game begins.
The game that I have no idea how to play.
I tap Bailey on the shoulder, "Uh, how do we play?"
She laughs lightly, "You mean you haven't played before?"
"Not really..."
She sighs. "Well, everyone downs ten shots each and the last one to finish is the catcher. Everyone else are the hiders. The hiders go off to hide somewhere in the house, and the catcher has to find everyone, even though most of the time people are left in their hiding spots unfound." She chuckles, "The thing is, you don't have to stay in the same spot; you can move around. If everyone is found within two hours, then the hiders have to drink ten more shots each. But if the hiders aren't found within two hours, then the catcher has to drink twenty."
I process the instructions carefully, "So basically a drunken version of 'Hide and Seek'?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
The porcelain cups are spread out evenly in the centre of the circle, the strong scent of alcohol seeping through my nostrils.
"So, everyone know how to play?" Positive responses follow the green-haired boy's question.
What is it with the different colour hair-do's?
"Alright then. Three, two, one, go!"
A sea of hands fumble about, gripping onto the drinks and consuming the ten required. I reach the ten easily, patiently waiting for the others to finish.
"Bailey, you're the catcher," the green haired boy simply states, Bailey letting out a frustrated groan.
She stands up, walking over to a wall and shielding us from her view.
"Right okay guys, we all know how this works. So Bailey count to...sixty seconds, then go search."
She nods in agreement.
The green haired boy turns to us, "Okay... let's play!"
Everybody scatters away, sprinting off in opposite directions. I race across the hallway, speeding up the stairs along with a few others. Departing from the route taken by another hider, I race along the ruby corridors, discovering plenty of doors, opening them in turn.
No such luck.
Turning another corner, I find a white door, too subtle to easily be noticed. Hastily opening it, I slip inside, gently shutting it behind me.
A closet. Perfect.
My vision hardly allows me to see what items are placed in front of me, oblivious to my surroundings. I slouch down onto the fallen coats, completely alone in the darkness.
A shuffle abruptly sounds from behind me.
Again, I'm mistaken. I'm not alone.
........................................
A/N Hey guys! Sorry for the delay, I've been pretty busy lately with homework and stuff. Anyways, there's gonna be a new cover for this book, because personally I think that it looks a bit tacky at the moment. That, and I'm changing my username as it'd be a bit weird with a cover saying a different username to the one I have (if you get me).
Okay, so for the next update, 5 votes and 1 comment? That's a really small target so it should be really easy to reach!
Stay faba-dasa-doo-daa! (Don't ask XD)
