I slouch on the couch the following day, unable to do anything else, physically and mentally. Missing swimming wasn't a habit of mine, but the mood I was in today wasn't suited to the activity. Despite my constant fumbling with the chopsticks, somehow my greedy mouth was able to devour a large portion of Chinese takeaway, leaving me feeling sick. I arise from the sofa, stumbling to the bathroom. Once I'm positive that I'm not going to be sick, I decide social isolation is not the best decision, so I grab my jacket and keys, heading over to the Tomlinson's.

I ring the doorbell as I reflect on the last time I talked to Auntie Jay. I shock myself at the long period of time I seem to have avoided the family, for no reason at all. I guess I've just been caught up in school so much, me with my late assignments. As my plans for summer remain limited, I decide to visit the Tomlinson's frequently for the next few weeks; it's the least I can do. The white door opens to reveal that familiar figure I would dare to call my second mum, dressed in royal blue jeans and a red cardigan, concealing the white vest underneath. "Sky! How nice to see you!" she pulls me into a welcoming hug, before leading me into the hallway. I feel alienated in this house, I feel so distant.

"Sorry I haven't been around lately..." I apologise, using the term 'lately' fairly lightly.

"Oh, don't be ridiculous," she chirps. "Take a seat and we can have a little catch up." I follow her into the lounge and slouch down on a sofa. "Would you like a drink? Tea, coffee, wa-"

"I thought you knew me well enough to know that I would never drink tea," I grin cheekily.

"A woman can hope. I'm guessing that's a no then?" she sighs.

"Correct," I laugh. "Thanks for the offer though anyway."

She takes a seat next to me, sitting down with more grace than I, "No problem sweetie, it's nice to know you still have your good manners. You were always the polite one out of you and Louis." I abruptly tense at his name. I should I have known she would mention him, he's her son after all. She must have noticed the tension thickening the air as she asks, "Something wrong?"

"N-no, not at all, I just was thinking about something...th-that's all." She curiously arches her eyebrow at me before I decide to change the subject,"So, how are the girls?"

"They're fine thank you, Lottie's caught a bit of a cold but it's nothing to worry about. I think they've gone to play at the park for a while, so they won't be back until later."

"I take it the twins are okay?"

"Never been better," she smiles.

"How do you cope with so many girls?" I laugh.

"I honestly have no id-" Jay is interrupted by the phone ringing throughout the house. "Excuse me for a second," I nod to her before she rushes out of the room to the home phone. "Hello?" I hear her say, yet the rest of the conversation is mumbled, only catching the odd words such as "home", "months" and "yes". She returns with a smile plastered to her face as she stands in front of me. I allow her to talk first, as it would be rude to ask what her personal conversation was about. "That was Louis on the phone. He's coming home!"

Uh oh.
