Cat's POV

"So, whatcha think?" I twirl on the spot, allowing the hem of my dress to float gracefully around me. The white fabric contrasts with my blazing red hair greatly, sometimes I wonder if it would have been better if I just stuck to my natural brown colour. Rikki nods, feeding me bullshit on which shoes would be more 'suitable' to wear. Frankly, 'suitable' isn't in my dictionary.

I turn to Sky for help with my side of the argument, however she's leaning against my oak wardrobe, staring at the curtains. Her face is unreadable and her stance reveals nothing more. She must be deep in thought, but what about I have no clue.

"Earth to Sky?" Rikki clicks her fingers in front of her face and immediately she snaps her head round, interrupted from her trance.

"Huh?" She looks at me cluelessly.

"We were just talking about Cat's dress." Rikki pronounces each syllabble clearly, as if she's talking to a three-year-old.

"Oh, right. Sorry," an emotionless gaze clouds her features once again, focusing her attention back to the curtains.

Sky's POV

I really, really shouldn't be going to this party, my subconscious persuades me to hide under my covers and free myself from the wrath of guilt, forming by my thoughts of rejecting my friends' request.

Fuck it, I'll go.

Only because I would be stationary if I lie on my bed, staring at the ceiling, wondering what would have happened if I did step out of that door. Worst case scenario could be that I get completely wasted and hook up with a random guy...

Maybe I should just stay here...? I could get plenty of studying done.

Are you fucking kidding me? It's the summer holidays and that would bore me out of my brain. Just go to the party...

...which will be full of hormonal teenagers.

And you're not one of them?

The battle inside of my brain continues as I mentally compare the two sides, determining who should triumph in victory.

"Sky, did you hear me?" I glance up to be met by Cat's questioning gaze.

"No, sorry."

She sighs, "I was just saying how we should set off soon, we have to be there by 7.30."

"We have to be? Can't we arrive later?" Rikki groans.

"No, because then he might..." She covers her hand with her mouth. Did she just say 'he'?

Me and Rikki both look at her as if she's some sort of prehistoric creature. "He?"

"I...I, um-"

"You have a boyfriend?"

"No! God, no, he's not my boyfriend he's just a friend..." she blushes.

"Right..."

"He is! I swear!" Cat defends herself as me and Rikki both exchange looks. So this is why she was so eager to go to the party.

"Who?"

"Oh, you won't know him." Liar.

"Cat, we know everybody. Tell us."

Hesitation. "Oh, would you look at the time? We better get downstairs and head off..." she distracts the attention away from her as she heads out the room at as fast a speed as her heels will allow.

Rikki rolls her eyes. "And that's why they call it, Puppy Love..." she begins to sway as she sings.

I playfully swat her shoulder, "Don't rub it in, she's just embarassed."

"I know, I know," she giggles. She waits a bit before asking, "So what were you thinking about?"

It takes me a while to realise that she's talking about my little daydream from a few minutes ago. "Oh, nothing, it's stupid." She flashes me a look as if to say 'I don't care, just tell me'. I sigh, "I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to the party, because I saw Frankie in the park earlier and...and she..."

She looks at me, shock clear on her face, "She didn't..."

I nod, "And I don't want her to do it again at the party."

Avenge is in her eyes, "She won't come anywhere near you, and if she does, we're out of there, yeah?"

I nod again.

"Come on, let's go down and join Miss. Innocent, or should I say Mrs," she winks, and we both head downstairs to discover Cat checking her phone.

We arrive at Wigan Crescent, the street hardly visible with the amount of cars concealing it. Rikki weaves in and out of the cars and manages to park directly outside, in the driveway. "And that is why you should always have me in the driving seat," she smirks as we step out of the car, careful to not trip up on one of the uneven paving slabs.

The frat house looms above us, casting a colossal shadow on the other houses on the street. I empathise for anyone who lives in these homes surrounding this teenage hot-spot, although most occupants are probably teenagers or young adults themselves. The three-story building infront of me lacks a front garden, however the massive back lawn makes up for it. The porch is situated in the middle and my heartbeat is hardly audible due to the ever increasing volume of chatter and music coming from inside.

Cat grasps the doorknob and glances at Rikki and I, before pushing open the doorway to Satin's home.
