Levi already planned how he was going to come about meeting the Jaegers. He left his car at a mechanics shop, near the Jaeger's house, where he paid off the mechanic to just leave his car there for a few days. He then headed to the Jaeger's house and knew he had to act scatterbrained and nice.
Levi knocked and waited for someone to come to the door. A boy with exhilarating teal eyes and brown hair almost covering his eyes appeared, he was presumably Eren Jaeger. "Oh hello, is there something I can help you with," Eren asked in a perky manner. Levi flashed a quick smile, to his dissatisfaction. The part he hated about being undercover is when he had to act like a nice guy.
"Hello my name is Rivaille, and my car broke down a few streets down. I was wandering around when I came across your house. I don't mean to sound rude about your neighbors, but your house seemed the liveliest. That's why I stopped by here." Eren let out a light laugh, "Do you need to borrow a phone?" "Yes please mine died. I guess I have terrible luck." "Come in. You can use the landline in the kitchen."
As soon as Levi stepped into the house, he had an immediate waft of pumpkin pie and some other food. He followed Eren in and rubbed his hands together trying to warm them. "Mother, there's a man here who would like to borrow the phone." Levi remained silent until they entered the kitchen.
"Oh good afternoon, Eren here is saying you'd like to borrow a phone." "Yes, if you don't mind." "Of course not, Mr..." Carla Jaeger let her voice trail on until Levi spoke up, "Rivaille." She placed a pan down and took out her hand," Nice to meet you Mr. Rivaille my name is Carla Jaeger and this here is Eren. I'm sure he didn't introduce himself." Eren looked at his mom with a childish stare. "Sorry Mr. Rivaille," Eren took out his hand and let Levi shake it. "Eren you can just call me Rivaille, so can you Mrs. Jaeger." She smiled politely.
"Well Rivaille the phone is right there if you like Eren and I can step out of the kitchen." "No it's alright, I'll just be calling a mechanic." Levi pretended to dial a number and pretended to talk to a mechanic while Carla continued cooking and Eren stood by silently.
When Levi was 'finished' he, placed the phone back. "Is everything alright," Eren politely asked. "Seems like my car is going to be stuck in the mechanics for some time." Levi intentionally sighed loudly, "Well thank you for your hospitality, I will be taking my leave now."
"Rivaille, as you can see I'm cooking right now. Would you like to stay for dinner?" "It'd be a pleasure." "For a while, please make yourself at home. Eren can you take him to the living room? Make sure he is comfortable." Eren smiled brightly at her as he guided Levi back into the living room.
"You can watch television till dinner is out." Levi only nodded as he took a seat on the couch and took the remote in his hand.
-----------------------------------------------
At the dinner table, the display of food was marvelous. To Levi, he was already finding it hard to believe that she was thought of being a drug dealer.
Eren, Carla, and Levi all sat at the dinner table as Grisha Jaeger walked in. Grisha had long brown hair and teal eyes; however, unlike Eren's his appeared worn out, lifeless. Grisha sat at the head of the table, besides him Eren and Carla. "Who are you? I don't believe we have meet." Levi stood to shake Grisha's hand. "I am Rivaille Ackerman." "Hmmm... you don't live in the neighborhood do you?" "No I was driving by when my car broke down. It's at Marco's Mechanics this very moment. They'll be keeping it for a few days." "How unfortunate." "Your wife was kind enough to invite me for dinner sorry if I'm intruding." "It's alright. Enjoy the meal." Levi smiled as he grabbed the utensils, and began to eat. A sudden overwhelming silence filled the room, but Eren couldn't take it for so long.
"Rivaille what is it that you do?" Levi cleaned his mouth and took a quick sip of water before speaking, "I am currently looking for a job. I just moved from the Underground City. I preferred a view. I used to be a Proffesor." "No kidding! So was my dad." "Oh really Mr. Jaeger, why are you no longer a professor?" Grisha narrowed his eyes at Levi, "A sudden lack of interest that's all." The atmosphere seemed to change and once again silence fell upon them.
"Eren where do you go to school at?" "Teal Sea University, it's really beautiful it's by the beach. I love it." Levi smiled at the boy his eyes seemed to sparkle as he continued describing the beauty of the ocean; it was odd that someone would do that.
Levi then decided to excuse himself to go to the bathroom. Eren immediately showed him where the nearest one was located. Levi washed his face as he sighed heavily. He still wasn't quiet sure how he could get into the basement. That's when he got a plan.
