Ayanna's P.O.V:
I stormed out of Nikera's room and headed downstairs for the hundredth time this night.
"Akiza." I called, squinting a bit as I walked. I forgot to put on my glasses before walking down, but I was too irritated to care. "Akiza!!" This time, I yelled. I found him sitting on the couch, his eyes closed and I could hear his music from where I was standing. "No surprise, he can't hear me.."
When I walked over, closer to him, I realized he was actually asleep. "I could be rude and just take his earphones out... Or, I could push him off the couch."
"How about you don't touch me at all?"
Looking down, I saw the hazel eyed male glaring at me. "And, would it kill you to lower your voice? I'm right here..."
I jumped back a bit. "I didn't think you could hear me.. Your music is always so loud, how can you hear anybody?" "It's a special thing called.. Reading lips, Ayanna.." he sat up, taking his earphones out.
"Alright, you didn't have to be such a smartass about it... And you, Akiza... Have some explaining to do." I folded my arms across my chest and he turned to look at me. "What do I need to explain to you? Better question.. Why do I have to explain it to you?"
"Oh, I don't know, cause mine and Nikera's lives are at stake?!" I exclaimed and Akiza sighed. "Calm down, will you?" He rubbed his eyes and stretched.
"I knew you'd freak out if you found out about the letter... So, I had Steph hold on to it... But, he probably didn't hide it in a good spot if one of you found it.." Akiza then stood up and walked around the couch to get to me.
"Nikera found it... And then, she told me to talk to you.. I'm guessing she didn't get much of an answer from Stefphan.." I yawned and covered my mouth. "You should get some sleep... We can talk about this later.." the hazel male said, trying to nudge me towards the steps.
"Hey, I'm not going to sleep until you tell me what's going on." I said. "It's a something of a long story.. I promise that Steph and I will explain it... In the morning during breakfast, or something.." he replied, rubbing his eyes again. "I rather tell you when you're already well rested..."
"Well..I guess that makes sense..." I thought aloud. "Do I look like the type of person to tell you something that could keep you up right before going to sleep? That's kinda heartless.." he laughed a bit. "Is that really how I think I am?"
"What? No.. Not at all..." I answered, yawning, officially giving up on my attempt to interrogate Akiza about the letter. "But.. You better keep your word.."
Akiza nodded, leading me upstairs once more. "I promise, Ayanna.." his grip around my wrist loosened until his hand met mine. "I'll tell you one thing though.."
"And that is?"
He turned around, pulling his earphones out and tucking them under the collar of his shirt. "No matter what happens.. Stephan and I will make sure that you and Nikera stay safe. At all costs." He placed his free hand on my head and ruffled my hair lightly. I cracked a smile and laughed a bit.
"What? I'm serious.." he chuckled. "I know you are.. Now if you'll excuse me... I'm gonna get some sleep.." I said and he nodded before heading to his room.
I walked back to my room and laid down. "Owww.... My neck...." I must have not been sleeping right or something... It took me a minute to readjust to be comfortable, but I fell asleep sooner or later..
