Stefphan's POV:
I walked into the kitchen and began cooking breakfast. I kind of grew sick of Akiza's cooking because he never allows anyone to cook. He thinks that his food is better than anyone else's, but since I am up before him its time for my cooking. I decided to make pancakes, eggs, and toast with freshly squeezed orange juice. Akiza and I discussed last night that we will tell Nikera and Ayanna everything during breakfast. Apparently he promised Ayanna that he would tell her during breakfast and I was not prepared. I didn't have time to process my thoughts. I was nervous to the point where my hands were shaking and my heart was pounding. I don't know why I'm so nervous. I was going to have to tell her sooner or later, but I was prepared for later rather than sooner. I realized that I never got to take her out to tell her everything, so I guess now will be the day. Akiza came down and looked at the food I made. "Typical Stefphan, always cooking the same thing." "I haven't cooked this in a while" "Yes, but its the same thing every time you do cook. Pancakes, eggs, and toast for breakfast, Grilled cheese for lunch, and Spaghetti for dinner. "Well those are the only things I know how to cook." "I feel bad for whoever marries you" I gave him a stern look which only made him laugh. "Not everyone can be you Akiza. Whoever marries Stefphan obviously loves him enough to eat that everyday. Hopefully she can cook" Nikera giggled. "Okay, the only one who can eat my food is Ayanna. Both of you are banned from my cooking" I said while handing Ayanna a plate. "Awe dont be that way Stefphan. We're only kidding." Nikera said and made a plate for herself. "I'm not." Akiza said and began making his own breakfast.
We all sat and ate breakfast together, but we haven't said anything. We just ate quietly. A few minutes past when Ayanna grew impatient. "Akiza when are you going to tell me?" She said. Akiza looked at me as I sighed. Nikera looked confused. I knew why I was nervous now. I was going to have to tell Nikera how her parents died and who killed them. "Alright Ayanna. I'll tell you." Akiza looked at me to make sure I was ready. I shook my head and he spoke. "Stefphan and I are from a different world or dimension or something. We're not from here and neither are you two. The place that we all came from isn't named yet because you two were supposed to name it" "Why would we have to name it?" Ayanna asked. "When both of you are 18 you were supposed to agree on a name, but now you can't. You two are princesses. The town we live on is a single town, that's the only town on that planet and it's divided in half" Akiza explained. I watched their expression change so much, but right now they didn't believe us. "Wait, what? We're princesses from this weird world that we don't know?" Nikera said. "Yes. Let Akiza continue explaining." I said to her. "One half is owned by Ayanna's family and the other half is owned by Nikera's family. Your families were very good friends, so the town was peaceful... until" Akiza looked at me. It was my turn to explain. "A war broke out. Akiza grew up on Ayanna's side and I grew up on Nikera's side. My father wasn't such a nice person, in fact he was very evil and so was my older brother Lane. They decided to attack your kingdom Nikera. They wanted to rule your side and become the king and prince of your side. Your family fought hard but lost the battle when my father and brother killed your parents. I'm two years older than you, so I was 7 when this happened. Whatever you grandmother told you wasn't true, she was trying to protect you." I said. "5? I was 5 when I lost my parents? It was your family that killed them?." She said as she began to cry. "Nikera, my dad and brother were the only bad apples in my family. I'm good. I would never hurt you. I'm here to protect you." I said, but she ignored my words. "I'm sorry that I forced this out of you. You were right to not tell me because I wasn't ready to hear it" She said as Ayanna hugged her. "When would you ever be ready to know. You couldn't have been prepared for this. Please believe Stefphan when he tells you that he's protecting you. His father and brother are still after you too, especially you Ayanna. Killing your parents wasn't good enough, so he's coming to kill you. Nikera, he's coming to kill you too." Akiza said, but they were speechless. "He's also after your necklace. Both of you have a necklace that has special powers. Nikera you have your locket and Ayanna has a quartz shard necklace." Stefphan said. "I've never wore my necklace. It's been in my jewelry box" Ayanna said. "Maybe you should start wearing it. I'm not sure how they work, but they were given to you by a witch, a good witch." Akiza said. "Why are you two protecting us?" Nikera said harshly, but I could tell that it was geared towards me. "We volunteered. Nikera, I know what my dad and brother have put you through and I want to be the one to make sure they don't do anything else to you." I said as she lightened up a bit but still not enough to make me feel better. We have told them everything that we knew. We saw the sadness in Nikera's eyes and the fear in Ayanna's. "I think we need time to process this. We're going upstairs. Thank you for telling us. It's appreciated" Ayanna said while her and Nikera went upstairs. I sighed heavily. "She knows that none of this is your fault Steph. Give her time to think it through" Akiza said, then walked into the living room to listen to his music. I'm afraid that I lost Nikera's trust. I'm afraid that she hates me now. When I found out what my father and brother did I hated them, I still hate them. I could never ruin a person's life like that or at all. I just wish she knew that.
