Nikera's POV

Ayanna and I followed Stefphan to our rooms. "You two will be across from each other. I will sleep in the bed room next to Nikera and Akiza will sleep in the bedroom next to you, Ayanna." Stefphan explained. We both nodded in agreement and he left us to get settled in. We brought no clothes or any of our items with us. What will we wear? How long will we be here? The house filled with the fresh scent of cooked food. I didn't know what was being cooked but it smelled really good. I laid across my bed, closed my eyes, and tried to calm my nerves. You're ok Nikera. You're ok. When I had finally stopped shaking and my heart slowed down I made my way back downstairs. Stefphan was watching tv and Ayanna was talking to Akiza. I plopped on the other couch, which caused Stefphan to frown a bit. "Are you ok?" He asked. "I will be. What were those guys?" I asked softly. "Don't say a word!" Akiza yelled to Stefphan from the kitchen. "Why can't I know?" I yelled back. "You two aren't ready yet, but you'll know soon" Stefphan answered after Akiza didn't respond. The secrets made me angry. I hate not knowing something, I hate secrets. A few moments later of sitting in silence, Ayanna walked in. "Dinner is ready." She said. Stefphan hopped out of his seat and ran to the table. I stayed where I was, I had no appetite. "You don't have to sit at the table, but you're eating." Akiza said while basically throwing a plate of food into my lap before giving me a chance to respond. Ayanna and Stefphan laughed a little. I ate without paying attention to what I was eating. Akiza could've fed me something poisonous and I wouldn't know, but I also didn't care.

Stefphan's POV
I stared at Nikera as she shoved the food into her mouth and forced it down. I knew what those guys were, but I had no idea why they went to her house. What could she possibly have that they wanted? Ayanna didn't say anything about anyone attacking her, but we couldn't wait until someone did, she needed to be protected too. They might be waiting to come for her. We never got full information of why they needed to be protected. The only thing that we know is who to protect them from.
I was washing the dishes after dinner when I felt a soft hand on my shoulder. "Do you think my grandmother is ok?" Nikera asked softly. I honestly knew she wasn't, she had been beaten up pretty bad, but I couldn't let Nikera know that. "I can't say for sure, but you shouldn't worry." I responded. The look on her face showed that I didn't give her the answer she was looking for and that saddened me a little. "Earlier today I was having a normal day. Going to school, walking home, crushing on you and now I'm hiding for my life. Why does everything change so suddenly? It wouldn't hurt if life gave us a heads up?" She said. I started to say something back until I heard Ayanna scream from upstairs. Everyone ran to her room and found her laying unconscious on the bedroom floor with a note attached to her. I grabbed the note as Akiza took her to the First Aid room and Nikera followed. I read the note carefully.
Note: We will get these girls if it's the last thing we do. You either hand them to us or we take them. Your choice!
I folded the note and stuffed it in my pocket while making my way to see how Ayanna was doing. She had woken up and Nikera took her to bed. I walked to Akiza and showed him the note. "We have a problem"
