Time passed in a blur... I had been married for over three months and I've had minimal encounters with Jamal. We'd just acknowledge each other silently and pass by without uttering even a single word, except for the one time when he said 'Zahra, you can go out when ever you wish because you're starting to look like a prisoner'.
Going out wasn't really a problem for me because I feel more comfortable at home but I was a bit more at ease. So I decided to use that opportunity to go on evening walks. The area we lived in was very condusive for everything. It was a typical rich people's area because you'd never find aimless wanderers.
Most of the houses there were built in vintage style but had this rich essence oozing from them.Just a few blocks away from our house, I saw another young lady of about my age walking dejectedly and her previously gloomy face lit up when she saw me. I let out a little smile to be courteous and almost walked past her but she spoke to me anyways
'Hi' she said with a thick Hausa accent. Even the word she said couldn't hide the fact that she's a Northerner.
'Hey, I said to her'
She let out a perfect set of white teeth into a warm welcoming smile.
'I guess you must be new in the area since I've never seen you around'
'Yes I am, I moved here over 3 months ago with my husband'
'You're married? I am too. I live in the house beside the children's park'
'Really? That means you're my next door neighbour I said excitedly
'I guess we'll make really great friends. I look forward to seeing you around neighbor'
She flashed her beautiful smile and walked away.

'Assalamu alaikum,' binta my house help said
'Waalaikum Assalam.. binta what is the matter?' I inquired
'Hajia one womens coming to saw you' she said in her poor English
Who is she?
'I don't knew her but she get white faces and his leg dey black'
'Her English was hard to comprehend so it was hard placing the person.'
I took my scarf and quickly wore a top to bottom buttoned bubu which covered the half vest and underskirt i was wearing under because frankly i dont stay fully clothed at home. I went down the almost spiral staircase with fast steps not to keep my guest waiting. I walked into the living room and to my surprise, it was my neighbour who I met a couple of days ago during one of my evening walks.
I opened my mouth in shock as I looked at her and bintas description of her came back to me and I chuckled a bit. I couldn't help but compare her face and legs, she was obviously bleaching.
'Hi, how are you? I wanted to stop by at your place today but you totally beat me to it.' I lied I wasn't really the type to vist people unless I had a good reason to do so.
'I'm fine dear, I was so bored of being home alone so I decided to come see you'
In our train of discussions I realised that we hadn't exchanged names but I found it embarrassing to ask. Just as I thought of it she said
'I'm Bahijjah by the way and you are?'
'Im Zahra'Binta came to inform me that lunch was served and we moved to the dinning area to eat.
Since Bahijja's husband was out of town for a seminar she decided to stay till maghrib so we went up to my room to watch a movie.
I checked the list of movies that were playing on mnet movies and Fifty shades of grey was just about starting so I tuned in and put off the light for a clearer view. We made our selves comfortable on the bed and used the duvet to cover out legs and leaned our backs on the bed head.
The movie had been running for about twenty five minutes and I fell asleep because I didn't sleep well the previous night. I thought I was just dreaming but I felt something warm on my chest and it kept moving lower, down to my abdomen. I changed my sleeping position thinking it would stop but it continued. I opened my eyes and behold I found Bahijja fondling over my body. I quickly jumped up only to find her completely naked... on my bed. I was too shocked at what was in front of me to even react.
This chapter is a bit short but kinda detailed... In next chapter will be Jamals POV ISA.
