Here's the missing chapter 12. Enjoy!
A week had passed by and Jamal had re married, the house was full to the brim of people but no one got to my section. I didn't even see the bride, I'm sure I will someday.
It's been long since I last saw bahijja so I decided to call her. I tried both her numbers but they were switched off so I sent musa who stays in the next room to go and check on her.
I heard a soft knock on the door, I'm sure it was musa. I opened the door and allowed him to speak.
'Hajia, mallam alero, bahijja's gate man said madam moved out a month ago because she was getting married so it is only her father and his wife that a living there'
'Getting married? When did she get divorced? Her father also lives in the house? What about her husband? Maybe he gave them the house as settlement' i thought
I needed to find out all these answers but I couldn't go out and she wasn't reachable. I just had to wait till I'll be able to go out.
'Thank you musa, goodnight' and I closed my door.
**********
It was four months after my divorce and I could finally go out, so I decided to go to bahijja's house first but I had to wait till it was dark.
I quickly ran out of the compound not to get seen by anyone and I knocked on the gate next door. Mallam alero opened the gate after a few knocks and let me in. I couldn't ask him all the questions I had in mind so I went straight to the main building.
I rang the bell and a familiar maid opened the door and let me in, luckily there was a middle aged woman sitting in the living room and I walked up to her and greeted her respectfully.
'I'm bahijja's friend, I haven't seen her for a few months and her numbers have been switched off and there's no way to get through to her so I decided to come here and find out if she's okay'
'Oh darling thanks for your concern but bahijja got married. Didn't she tell you?
At that moment a man who I recognized to be bahijja's husband through some pictures she showed me came downstairs and I greeted him.
'My dear I heard you asking for bahijja when I was coming down? Have a seat by the way, why are you still standing.. feel at home.
I sat on the one seater closest to me and answered him.
'Bahijja got married about four months ago, and coincidentally she lives just next door. We were abroad for a while so you probably haven't met us, we are her parents.
I felt my chest getting suffocated, like i was having a panic attack so I quickly took the glass of water the maid brought me a while ago and gulped it down.
When I got over the shock, I tried to act as normal as possible.
'You mean bahijja lives just next door? I never knew. Maybe I'll pay her a surprise visit very soon since I know where she lives.
I thanked them and walked out of the house. I was sweating profusely, I couldn't believe what I just heard.
Bahijja lied to me all along just to get my husband. Only God knows how long it had been going on. I can't believe she still did that to me knowing how I felt about him.I walked back home feeling weak and heartbroken. I tried to open my room door and the key fell but someone was there to pick it up, it was musa. Musa opened the door and took me in I felt comforted by his presence that I told him every single detail about what had just happened and he seemed to understand me.
He said a lot of comforting words and he started telling me jokes that cracked me up a little but they didn't last for long before I broke into uncontrollable tears again.
I felt a warm body around mine, i was sure it was musa but I didn't want to move because I was enjoying the heat that came from him. At that moment I recalled the very first time I saw him lying on my couch, I think from that moment I started seeing him as a man but I never realised.
There was one time I decided to go to the BQ to see what it looked like and saw him shirtless, another time was when I saw him undressing to take a shower, I saw him many other times after then so I decided to stay away from him because it would lead to no good. Now that I was no longer someone's wife there was absolutely nothing stopping me so I reciprocated the hug and increased the tears hoping he would hold me tighter which he did.
I broke the hug and looked into his eyes, they were sincere. At this point I don't care if he's not sincere I just need to be with him. I pulled him into a kiss and he kissed me in return. I felt his hand moving to unzip my dress but I stopped him and broke the kiss.
'What happens after we do this?' I asked
He looked confused for a few seconds and said 'we go all the way'
His response sent chills down my spine all nd I felt a rush of excitement and pulled him closer to continue from where we left off.
The next morning was rather shameful but I didn't care, I got the satisfaction and love that no one, not even my ex husband had shown me from musa.
I quicky Got up and changed the blood stained sheets before musa came out of the bathroom.
With him it was like a whole new feeling entirely, we understood each other even through our eyes.
